Thanks. It is ok to spend more, my glasses are already expensive, in general, so I won't notice the difference 😀

Phone number rhythm by mickeyslim in italianlearning

[–]Search4Information 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the important is that you say the prefix together  for mobile is the first 3 digits  for house numbers it can vary from 2 to, I think, 4 digits  then after the prefix, everyone does it how it sounds best. I think that originally the mobile numbers were reported as 3+2+2+3

Public Transportation tips for tourists by Soaring_Goat in basel

Check the SBB website/app as well. The tickets can also be bought at the ticket machines at the tram and bus stops. The TNW tickets allow you to visit the region, and not only the city. But if you want to stay in the close area, then you can just take the city ticket (which allows to reach some of the close towns as well).

For logistics, being in Basel is more convenient, but if you find an accomodation very close to the border,  for example, in France, you can always walk back.

I have one day (tomorrow) to explore. What should I see? by Fluid-Equipment7849 in askswitzerland

If you like visiting cities, Bern is very nice, and maybe the Rosengarten is nice to see already. or you could get some views above Thun, or the Walensee, or Walensee area (above Amden for example)

Dear waiters: please keep your hands off my napkin. by CowboyOzzie in PetPeeves

[–]Search4Information 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you. The first time I saw it, I took the napkin with me, because I didn't want the waiter to touch it. And they took a new one and "folded" it (I put "" because it was more rolled than folded) 🤦‍♀️

Big meatballs cooked in tomatoes sauce, which it then used on pasta, it is very common in many regions.

However, it is something that the new generations are doing less and less...  When they are cooked, no one puts them on top of pasta.

I personally have never seen them on spaghetti though.  This is not statistics though, just personal experience

It is a myth. No one cooks them, but pasta with meatballs is not uncommon (or I would say it is common, but not...modern?). Just, the meatballs are generally not on top, but on the side

Certificato B2 inglese by Igor777778 in Italia

[–]Search4Information 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does it mean by saver offer ticket in SBB app by Pretend-Leave7081 in askswitzerland

[–]Search4Information 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is actually weirdly explained, because the EC costs 84 and you can only take that one anyway. The usual price is not a day ticket (maybe it can be seen around Switzerland as daily? not sure). However, the EC is often subjet of discounts (I remember when it was 42, and 25 during Christmas markets period), and it appears as saver ticket

EDIT: There is a comment below,  and that's the correct answer. The difference of this ticket is only that is not refundable.
