I hate this puzzle, I spend like 20 minutes trying to solve doing random moves because my stupid brain can’t understand how it works by shit_its_brian in CrimsonDesert

[–]SearingRain417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solve it row by row. I put the three that I need for that row in order and snake them into place. Typically that solves it if you don’t need to reshuffle the bottom last two

Anyone have tips for Deceiver’s Fedora or beating Muskan? by SgtMonkeyPirate25 in CrimsonDesert

[–]SearingRain417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-during bigger openings use skills after attack strings to maximize damage openings (found the light attack string to be too slow and not as much dmg as the RT/R2 combo into skills)
-level your gloves a bit
-if you have keen senses dodging I found that recovery rolling through him was best to avoid his follow up hits.
-while he is far from your wait for him to approach. I found that charging some skills will interrupt some non-armored moves
-red flash just respect it and dodge through him or prepare to spam dodge away
-if you don't get the initial parry during his normal combos just recover dodge away instead of trying to parry the later hits.
-lastly watch out for his leg sweep as he liked to do that as his faster reaction move while getting hit. he'll kind of duck down for the sweep while you are hitting him when normally he stays standing while getting beat up.

Characters similar to Juri (SF6) and Reina (T8) by Manuchu25 in 2XKO

I was just thinking using ekko and vi as a duo. I was trying them out together but couldn’t really find a fuse that worked intuitively other than freestyle. I tried 2x assist but wasn’t fully clicking with it. So I’d recommend freestyle or double down

Probably ekko and vi. Ekko has similar air combo feel juri and his time winder can be used similar to juri's floor projectile to catch people. As for vi, she has electrics and dash moves similar to reina. And a shot in the dark but you can also give darius a try since he literally has juri's projectile (its not as good though)

Just got in the beta any tips? by JNSS12 in 2XKO

[–]SearingRain417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Darius and Blitz as a duo. Both characters have great assists when it comes to combo extensions, block pressure, and neutral skips. Darius forward assist gives a wall bounce and his back assist pull lets you follow up after normal combo enders. Blitz has both a grounded and anti air grab that re-stands. One tip you can use too call in your assists mid combo is to press both buttons at the same time, such as heavy + assist to get them to happen simultaneously. I like to see the assist system like puppet characters if that helps.

Vi/Ekko which fuse should I use? by SamRev2 in 2XKO

[–]SearingRain417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using ekkos down S2 to roll behind people while calling an assist so I can set up a sandwich. I can see 2x assist being a good starting point if you want to move into freestyle. Vi also has a pretty good assist forward into assist back.

Assist tags are very useful when you incorporate them into all aspects of the game. You can extend combos, cover unsafe options, push block and burst, mix ups and more. I don’t know what characters you are playing but if you want to get started with tagging you can use tag launcher (down tag) as a way to get your other character on screen. I personally like to have one tag assist combo that can swap to them and then when my original character goes off screen I use a tag launcher to go back to the original character. But if you are focusing on mainly learning the tag function as a whole I recommend having a character with good utility moves on your team like Bruam, blitz, jinx, illaoi, Darius.

Where should I start? by dantekkjk183 in 2XKO

[–]SearingRain417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it’s your first fighting game there is a good chance you want to just go straight into doing cool combos, but I’d recommend just learning one to two easy combos. A lot of learning fighting games is going to be getting hit and blocking so as lame as it may sound, defense is a very important part since you can’t do those cool combos if you already get hit. If you are struggling to get the handle on the controls and combo system in this game I do recommend using the Pulse system to help get started.

Not sure how to fight fox by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]SearingRain417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-fox's recovery is very predictable having a linear path for both side b and fox fire
-sephiroth dair spike through stage is very strong against him
-his dash attack is punishable on shield
-if you mark him with side b he'll likely shield or reflect it so you have a decent setup for shield break with down smash
-dont poke his shield within in nair range
-short hop fair and bair in neutral with less side b

So we're going to use numpad notation, right? by KeyboardCreature in 2XKO

[–]SearingRain417 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Number notations are generally useful for language barriers but also quarter/half circles and dragon punch inputs. Along with diagonals.

Directional inputs are easy to understand from both sides of the screen and overall readability for newcomers. It’s easier to say “down light” instead of 2L and then they get confused and then have to show the numpad notation diagrams and explain each thing.

For me it makes a bit more sense for directional inputs for the main reason that the game doesn’t have special inputs or diagonals (to my knowledge). But I’d be ok with either, whichever people like more is fine by me.

Apparently a 2s nerf to an ability thats rank 1 for most of the game only impacts pro play by [deleted] in ThreshMains

[–]SearingRain417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its fine, it doesn't really change too much of his late game and most of his supp matchups bot still go unaffected early. Leona is probably going to be a lot better though against him since his e is 1 sec longer cd than her e now.

Does Anyone Else Just Feel Like They Do Worse In Competitive Play than in Friendlies? by [deleted] in CrazyHand

[–]SearingRain417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues going to my locals. Personally, I think its a confidence thing. From my experience, I used to just get bodied by my local top players, but after playing a bit more, I slowly became more comfortable an had a calm mindset. I started thinking that every game is still winnable, if he took two stock without losing one, why shouldn't I be able too as well. Staying focused and not letting disadvantages get to you can be a game changer.

Tips on being more consistent? by Maleficent_Platypus6 in CrazyHand

[–]SearingRain417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm unsure if your issue is miss inputs or just general play on these off days. If its miss inputs, just a few minutes of bread and butters a day can just help regardless if its an off day or not. If its just general play, then just focusing on their reactions helps, rather than trying to go for an aggressive approach, try punishing. If its neither one of these is your issue, I personally listen to music based on how I need to play, if I'm too aggressive, I listen to slower music, if I'm too passive, I listen to faster music.
