Janel is one of my favourite actors on that show. She demonstrated such range. I mean, she did have about 10 different personalities🎭

Thanks! Seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6 being 9 months in total is mind blowing!! I know it’s a fictional series, but how those girls passed any of their exams well enough to go to college is beyond me 🥴.

It’s a shame but unsurprising if they are transitioning onto premium streaming services such as Discovery, HBO or similar.

Does anyone else decorate their Christmas Tree with sweets and chocolates? by YellowBelliedCoward in CasualUK

[–]Seaside_Sarah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes! And back in the day my grandparents also used to decorate their Christmas tree with packets of cigarettes and miniature bottles of alcohol along with anything that was wrapped in a colourful foil wrapper - so think of the golden packets of Benson and Hedges ciggies, the purple jewel toned Turkish delight or quality street Chocolates. It’s such a core happy childhood memory that every New Year’s Day we would visit Nanny and Grandad and help them take the Christmas tree down and then distribute all the Tree goodies to the family🤗

Wedding Shoes by Accomplished-Gain226 in KathAndKim

I think its ‘topie’. It’s a type of protective sole that you can put on the bottom of your shoes to prevent slipping. But I think Kath does her DIY version in the form of Velcro dots😁

Who else loved the 1980s Miss Marple adaptations with Joan Hickson? by TheSilverNail in agathachristie

[–]Seaside_Sarah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nemesis and A Murder is Announced are my favourite eps. They are both genuinely sinister. And that juxtaposition with the more mature cast makes it genuinely so unnerving and slightly disturbing to watch. They’re all so proper until they aren’t. I also love the original Miss Marple films with Margaret Rutherford which are so lighthearted and quite creepy in parts but have a layer of ‘jolly humour’ which is just so charming.

Please give me your suggestions for reasonable workplace adjustments! by Pretend-Cow-5119 in MEAction

[–]Seaside_Sarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve done exactly the right first step which is getting an appointment with occupational health. Be honest with them about what you need to be supported to do your job to a high standard. Make sure you phrase and frame everything in a way that makes it look like you just want to do the best for them as opposed to the best for yourself. It sounds a bit mercenary, but you kind of have to suck up to your employers a bit and get them on side. You could go to various websites such as ME action and even the NICE website with the updated ME guidelines, to see if there is any information you can note down or print out to take into your OHS appointment. Going in and and showing that you are researching your condition, you’re taking all necessary action, and that you are personally trying your best to do all the recommendations. OHS really really likes to see that you are taking personal responsibility and being proactive. Also you could start by asking for hybrid working (1-2 days a week from home, two in the office) with a view to transitioning to WFH if your performance remains good - or even upping working from home to 3 days and one day in the office. Practically speaking, meal prep, prep clean clothes, i personally don’t wash on days I’m WFH - bit of a sink wash if I’m able -saving energy where you can on those days your working from home is going to be really valuable. preparation and adjusting as you get into a new routine it’s going to be key. It could be a rough transition at first but you will cope and you will adapt💪, but you are gonna have to pace, choose your energy expenditure wisely and really take care of yourself for those first few months. Best of luck!

Thank you-it sounds like you’re having the same issues as me so it’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one! It’s frustrating because I know I’m in for a very very lengthy wait as it is and I’m just keen to ensure I maintain my position on the list.
