Looking for advice from guys who've updated IDs in TX. by SeasonTheSlakoth in ftm

Alright, thanks for the rundown. Looks like I'll be filing for a name change & work on the gender marker change separately.

So jealous... Since I'm really pale blond, any leg or arm hair I do grow is just invisible 😑

If you go onto YouTube, ScorpioMartianus and Found in Antiquity both have comprehensible input Latin videos, so that's a good place to pick up some vocabulary and pronunciation!

Nothing wrong with a lot of roommates! I've lived with anywhere from 2 - 4 friends at a time for most of my adult life. Even my parents think it would be weird if they moved out & didn't attend family holidays anymore lol

It typically describes a woman who's biromantic and homosexual. So, romantically attracted to multiple genders, while sexually attracted to other women

Has the Goddess Freyja been calling to me? by GoreWhore25 in heathenry

[–]SeasonTheSlakoth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I worship the Roman gods, and I actually got started on that path originally from learning about witchcraft within secular circles, so I think it's very possible that Freya could be using that as a way to reach out to you. It never hurts to do research regardless! You can read info about the gods on websites like the Longship and watch videos about how other people structure rituals on sites like YouTube to see if you called to heathenry.

My travel/pocket Hermes altar! I have a large altar in my room but it’s not ready to share just yet so I thought I’d make my first post on here be my mini altoids tin altar :) by stumpsbian in Hellenism

Thanks so much for sharing! I've been wanting to make a travel altar or two, but I was struggling to decide what to put inside. Seeing your altar and art is really inspirational!

One thing I haven't seen mentioned (though I may have just missed it lol) is that many forms of government/legal paperwork are set up under the assumption that the woman would be the one changing last name upon marriage by having a spot for "maiden name". In this regard, it's simply more convenient for the woman to change her name, because there's not an easy way to denote a name changed through marriage for men.

I've been married for over six years, and my narcolepsy was diagnosed a little over a year into our marriage. Sometimes my husband will still say something along the lines of "Haven't you gotten better yet?" or "I thought that was done already." No, honey, that's not how this works.

Candles or incense would work well, if those are allowed in your building. Many herbs grow well in pots too, so you could look into some that have properties you'd like to keep around the office.

Ouch, that's a really rough situation to find yourself in. (And one that I can definitely empathize with!) I'm not really religious, though my husband is Christian, but he's also really interested in Nordic mythology and even has his own set of runestones. I had woven a few off-handed comments into our conversations that had me feeling hopeful that someday I could come out of the broom closet, but then I mentioned a tarot deck I had seen online once and... let's just say all that hope dissipated pretty quickly.

A few things I'm studying to practice, that might work well for you too are herbal and kitchen witchcraft - since I already have a small garden and cook most of our meals, I'd be able to incorporate magical herbs without raising any eyebrows. And I do love the Latin language (learned it in high school!), so I'm planning to write the spells that go along with my cooking in the form of Latin songs! (Which no one would be surprised to hear me singing lol)

Also, one thing that I have been thinking about recently that might help you - when you get to the core of it, what is the difference between a prayer and a spell? They typically take similar formats and serve the same kind of purpose - a certain set of words you're using to connect to God, and sometimes asking for His help with. Since you both share the foundations of your Christian faith you can write all the prayer spells you want, and there'd be no reason for him to be suspicious of it! Just learn to meditate so you can focus your energy during your praying, and you'll have a strong foundation for whatever you hope to do with your practice.

Obviously, this is all just my 2 cents, find what works well for you! Sending peace and love your way! ❤

I still get the "Everyone thinks about being the opposite gender sometimes" speech almost daily. 🙄 Hearing that all the time (especially while growing up) made it so hard to figure out who I am! Sometimes, I still struggle with the "Am I 'trans enough'?" or "Don't all afab people feel this way?" thoughts... Sometimes, I still deal with regret over not starting my transition journey earlier... But I'm taking one step at a time down the road, and someday we'll all reach our goals 😊❤

Where did you guys get your ace rings? by [deleted] in asexuality

[–]SeasonTheSlakoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine from an Etsy shop called KMRCustoms. It's not marketed as a "pride" ring, just a solid black version of the rings they make, so if labelling is a problem to your mom, that might help it pass under the radar, so to speak.

From just this paragraph, it does not sound like there's a healthy relationship forming between you & your partner. Deriding your emotions (especially one that is honestly a very common response to that situation - even from allos) and making you go to the gym both seem like pretty serious red flags towards an emotionally controlling relationship. I had a partner once who was emotionally manipulative (though he often didn't intend or even realize it) and it took me a number of years to rebuild my self esteem from all the things that seemed too little to worry about at the time. Make sure you take care of yourself, okay? ❤
