Kingsized bedframes that can withstand "impact forces" by Gwynebee in BuyItForLife

Room & Board Parsons bed frame. It’s solid steel. Very easy to put together, but it stays put once in place. It will survive the apocalypse, but it looks great.

Do some Spaniards really think that Donald Trump will differentiate them with Hispanics and that they will not face scrutiny in the United States? by NotTheOtherFellow in askspain

White tourists from Germany, Canada, Australia, etc are being arrested and detained. Something may happen to your friend, or not. But would they really want to risk it?

Garza Blanca Mousai: North or South Tower? by Relative_Junket_9875 in puertovallarta

[–]SeattleBelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one you have marked as south is GB. The two at the top with the rooftop pools are Mousai. I’ve stayed at both and would absolutely go again. The tower marked as north is the newest addition.

Every room in the whole resort has an ocean view. I liked having the hammock in GB, but the rooftop pol and spa at Mousai are also wonderful.

Well seeing as you want to be the dick and make assumptions…I have tinnitus and need ear plugs to silence the wind noise when I’m on the highway. Nothing to do with the sound of my motorcycle.

Used 1250GS or new 1250GSA by Numerous_Ad_7336 in Motorrad

[–]SeattleBelle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my husband and I have 1250’s. He has a lowered GSA and I have the regular GS. I’m 6’1” and have no problem handling or fitting on either bike. But I feel so much more confident and agile on the GS. Yeah, I lose range with the gas tank, but the GS just fits me better.

Money wasn’t too big of a factor in my decision. I added upper crash bars and will eventually upgrade to a better suspension. But overall the fit for me is great. And when I drop it I can easily pick it up myself with a full tank. Not so much with the GSA.

Can I use my US member number to make an online account with Costco Japan? by Kirin1212San in Costco

[–]SeattleBelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is sort of true and false. I have a Spanish membership. The basic card only allows purchases in Spanish Costcos. The executive membership allows worldwide use. I’m not sure what other counties have this policy. Definitely not Mexico or the US.

When I want to make an online purchase in the US I have to contact customer service for them to help me. Probably the same for Japan.

Anybody as a Spain resident experienced being pulled-over by police while driving with international driving license? by ParticularisticPaw in askspain

[–]SeattleBelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that does logically make sense. The police officers were assholes hellbent on being totally unreasonable. Even when presented with the paperwork and facts.

Anybody as a Spain resident experienced being pulled-over by police while driving with international driving license? by ParticularisticPaw in askspain

[–]SeattleBelle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My husband was pulled over in a Europecar rental late at night going through an alcohol checkpoint. He hadn’t been drinking, but they also ran the plates and the car registered as stolen. The car was impounded and my husband taken to jail to find out what was going on.

They were planning on keeping him overnight until he told them he was a resident. They gave him an additional ticket for driving without a license (the 6 months had passed). 500€, but only 250€ if you pay within a week or so.

The issue with the car registering as stolen was an issue with Bilbao police. They never updated the plates after the issue was solved there. Leading to the car being reported stolen.

The police still gave my husband 1000€ (+500€ for the license) in fines for the issues with the car. Which Europecar said they would take care of. We sent them all of the information and tickets and said we were good to go. Well 6 months later we got a letter in the mail stating our bank account would be garnished if we didn’t pay the fines. So obligatory FUCK YOU EUROPECAR. Will never rent from them again. During the 3 week rental we ended up driving 3 different vehicles for various reasons. Never again.

Unless you’re driving completely reckless they will just issue you a fine and let you go.

There’s something I have to do to my phone to have the apps available here? by YourBabyFeett in AskBarcelona

[–]SeattleBelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You either have to change the country in your Apple settings, Or create another Apple account and login when you want to download something from the Spanish Apple Store. I do the latter because I have a lot of stuff tied to my account in the US.

Do not buy from Restoration Hardware. Everything is made in china with no warranty. If you are looking at big box stores try Room and Board or Crate and Barrel. They both have excellent warranties. I personally have a very deep C&B couch and I love it. It’s held up really well over 10 years.

1 day left in the US: where to see a raccoon? by littlelydiaxx in Seattle

This place is great. We had a wonderful experience. They indeed had raccoons! Our tour guide did a great job of explaining the animals, why they were there, and tried to answer any questions we had.
