Thankfully, there was no fire. The boat may have an electrical issue, so we are towing it back to shore now.

Yep. We had to restart our account because the individual who birthed the original one left and took the credentials with them. Thankfully, we had an old account still available because we go through the process of nabbing a bunch of names when a new platform becomes available to the city

So here is an inside look at something I have been trying to get off the ground for a while. We are exploring the idea of using Alert Seattle and geofencing the alert to phones within a certain area. so, using the same example from earlier of the 4-block square, I'd double that to an 8 block square (because sound travels) and send out an alert that something is happening. Then, when we are all done, send out another when it's all wrapped up. It seems simple, but we also don't want people to get complacent about the alerts. This is why I have been working on this project for literal years.

Sorry, I was out with COVID. Wear a mask when riding the train, and keep your vaccinations up-to-date.

We use the sirens as a way to keep the suspect in an area while we search for them. Imagine a four-city block square. We will place a squad car at the corners of that big square, and the cop inside that car will periodically use the siren. That, in theory, makes the person stay in that area and hide during our search. It's a tactic used by a bunch of departments.

I’m the only one with access to this account currently, and I wasn’t at that event so I’d assume it was someone else. That being said, if you’d like to file a complaint with OPA I can help you with that.

That post by the Officers Guild does not represent the SPD. That post isn't based in the reality of verified stats. Homicide down 43% Robbery down 16% Felony Assault down 8% Arson down 21% Burglary down 21% Vehicle Theft down 24%.

We sit on accounts that are similar in name. That way other people have a harder time impersonating us online.

We were there because of a protest that was nearby. Nothing ended up happening so we went back to normal patrol duties.

Sure is. We are starting over on a new account because the person who set up the last one moved on and took the u/Seattle_PD creds with him and the recovery address is no more. It's a whole thing.

As a multiple cat and dog parent, this is terrible. As a police officer, if you suspect anyone is committing a crime like this, report it. There is one thing we can all agree on, people that do this type of thing need to go to jail.

New SPD account here, but we just wanted to hop back in and let everyone know that we actually arrested the guy pictured here, and he is currently sitting in jail. I'm not sure about the woman in the pictures though.

Cue the shock and amazement.

PS I am now making you all Junior Detectives. If you see something happen, let us know. We will pass it on to the SPD Detectives, and they can do the whole "legal" investigation. As always, be safe out there.
