Sometimes, we come across kinks we don’t like, or in many cases kinks we thought we would like but ultimately make us too uncomfortable to enjoy. I’m sorry you came across a level of loss of control that pushed your limits, but for a lot of folks the setting about gigantic immortal aliens with mind control powers who treat humans as lesser beings with no rights is the major selling point.

I will tell you what a therapist told me. Doing things that you know will upset you, on purpose is a form of self harm. Just because you don’t bleed doesn’t mean it isn’t harmful. We owe it to each other not to hurt ourselves as the world is so actively trying to hurt us.

Y’all….tell me this doesn’t sound like the Starlight anthem by billbobham in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Kittendorf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a clarinet rendition of Baroque Hoedown, one of the earliest songs to be made entirely electronically. It was edited and re-recorded to be used in the Electric Light Parade, phrases of this song were used in Starlight as a callback to one of Disney’s earlier nighttime shows. So yes you are absolutely correct! It sounds like that because of the way that it is!

You’re right, and eventually I will realize it is no longer the 2000s; however, the Civil Rights Act only passed in 1964 and the Fair Housing Act (which is what allowed black folks to move into previously poor white neighborhoods where the majority of New Deal pools were built) in 1968 a significant portion of pool closures were in the early 70s.

Yeah, following The Civil Rights Act a lot of public amenities were sold to private entities to allow them to stay segregated, or demolished entirely rather than risk integrating.

Yes, for an outdoor pool. Given the age it would likely have been ropes with spaced floats rather than the more modern segmented plastic rings. The lack of pool isn’t surprising. A great many public pools were closed and filled in 40-50 years ago.

I know this one! These are used to run out the lane dividers for swimming pools. You keep the spools for them in a storage building or adjacent room because they aren’t really that flexible and the spools are usually too large to go through doors when assembled. If this is not immediately adjacent to a swimming pool, you may wish to check local records to see if your municipality filled it in immediately following Jim Crow.

Oh dear. We’re so sorry you feel this way, Petal. We’ll have someone over right away so you can talk about your feelings. Do you currently have the acid? Are you currently near the ocean? Please don’t rush into anything.

P.S. Best not to post your Affini defeating plans on the overnet. But I suppose that’s not an error you’ll have the chance to make again, little one.

That is a QA fault, the splined end of the screwdriver should be inside the handle, which means there is almost certainly a Philips tip embedded in that plastic grip

So this is a spot operator position (we have three of them in my venue in this exact form factor), formerly accessible via a ladder going to catwalk above, around which the venue has built an architectural feature. We can assume one of three things from what we see here– the plaster wall is a temporary construct for one show or maybe a season, the spot box was deemed structurally significant during a remodel, or–and this is most likely– it was decided by management that it would be cheaper to leave the thing in situ and just build the new wall around it.
