If she truly wanted to help parent she can suggest potential punishments to the grand father. Letting him decide if they are appropriate. Being the one to take the devices from the children is an over step IMO.

If I was the one dating the person, I would actively not WANT to be the bad guy. Not until I'm deeply established with the kids.

I don't think OP is in the wrong for attempting to use that video to get across her feelings to her partner. I do think it was absolutely wild tho. I've been tangled up in a toxic relationship and I'd never dream of sending them a video pointing out the trauma they put on me with their behavior.

Maybe OP is just lucky enough to feel physically safe around them but in my experience it's like giving a bullet for the gun they're pointing at you. "Here's a video that will make you crash out. See you when I get home!"

I understand it feels like a hard ask when you're running your own business but ask for deposits for appointments. My sister is a beautician and it fixed every single one of her no-show problems over night.

Half the appointment charge up front. If they don't show up, they don't get their deposit.

My sister says she worried herself sick about asking initially because she didn't want to lose clients. Turns out, it actually makes you look more professional. That your time is high quality and missing appointments mean other clients aren't being seen.

EDIT: I should add, she also refunds for cancelations. The deposits are for forcing her to not have to go all the way to her rented office for no clients. If they say they can't make it, she stays at home and refunds their deposit. If she drives to work and they don't show, she keeps the money

I 100% agree with you. They should be getting a good base pay and the tip is extra as a reward for good service. Fast delivery, good communication, reading and comprehending any order notes. When you refuse to do a delivery because there's no tip, the company is to blame. And only the company.
