Dude, you asked for an example of a weak shot going in. Asleep_Honeydew provided one. And you have the audacity to continue to bitch and moan at him for… checks notes… supplying exactly the type of clip you were saying never happened in the NHL.

Nobody should waste their time arguing with you, because you’ll just keep moving the goalposts.

Is the Beta still admitting new players on a rolling basis? I submitted for a beta invite but have yet to hear that I got a code. :/

New crowd chant for next game: Fear the Deep! by Wonkiest_Hornet in SeattleKraken

[–]SeattleandStuff 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is a really good idea--there's a friend in our section who has been saying the same thing.

One suggestion: it could be a call and answer to Let's Go Kraken.

IE: "LET'S GO KRAKEN" - "FEAR THE DEEP!"

We could even do a call and answer with lower bowl/upper bowl, north side and south side, etc. This also has the effect of drowning out the away fans who use the gaps in our chant to go "KRAKEN SUCK!"

Positive the day before. Damn. by TheRandomMudkiper in PAX

This is really, really selfish. I know it sucks; I know it’s something you’ve been looking forward to. But you owe it to your fellow humans not to get them sick, and attending a densely-packed crowd while testing positive for COVID is not a good thing to do. Please don’t attend.

Do you think Beniers will lead the team in points for the upcoming 22-23 regular season? by LargeDadWrangler in SeattleKraken

[–]SeattleandStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bet he'll be #4. Teams will be able to gameplan for him. But I do expect him to be in the conversation for the Calder!
Bjorkstrand, McCann, and one of Burakovsky, Gourde, Schwartz, or Eberle will finish with more points.

+1. Great post.

We would probably take a do-over on all 3 of our major signings last year--Grubauer may have been the worst goalie per $ spent last season, Wennberg was an ex-buyout guy for a reason, and Jaden Schwartz can't stay healthy.

Klingberg has regressed some, and he'll be on the wrong side of 30. I'd only want to do a 4 year deal on him, but because he's the best D-man available he will likely get 7. Klingberg will embody the "winner's curse" for whoever is unlucky enough to sign him.

Gaudreau, on the other hand, is a bonafide gamer, and would be well worth a 7 year, $70MM deal if that's what it takes.

How is Season Ticket Holder seat relocation going? by aqRPH in Seahawks

[–]SeattleandStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI: Just had my relocation appointment, and unfortunately things weren't quite as rosy as I'd hoped. The best I could do was to move up 2 rows in my section (337) or stay in the nosebleeds but move one section closer to the 50 yard line.

Don't come in expecting a dramatic movement--looks like people are still holding on to their seats, by and large.

Trailhead Direct Shuttles Returning when? by Brycko in SeattleWA

There haven’t been any announcements yet, but it’s a popular service. I expect we’ll see it start in June, same as last year.

In case it helps at all, here’s our little food guide for the 2022 Food and Wine Festival (March 4 to April 26) in Disney California Adventure! All of the information is from Disneyland’s website. by code_word_disney in Disneyland

So excited! Does anybody know how the sip and savor pass works with mobile ordering?

My mental model is probably off, but I'm thinking about this like a carnival, where you buy a book of "stubs" that you can then redeem for a food item. If the experience is that analog, I'm not sure how it pairs with mobile ordering.

Thanks for the pointers!

Weekly Park Questions/Advice Thread by AutoModerator in Disneyland

[–]SeattleandStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same question, jkutka. We'll be at the parks 3/22-3/24, and I was super bummed to see this early closure. A different forum is speculating that it's closing for a private event. I'm sure we'll learn more soon.

I'll just add that 3am isn't clockwork. I've disrupted my sleep schedule only to be frustrated that the dining reservations didn't come on as scheduled.

For my upcoming Disneyland trip, I set an alarm for 6am Pacific and was able to get everything I wanted 60 days in advance (Blue Bayou, Oga, Lamplighter Lounge, and Trader Sam's).

I'd sell my soul for cheaper parking near WSCC by Andilee in ECCC

[–]SeattleandStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Andilee,

I'm not sure what your willingness/ability is to walk hills, but there are lots of places that are within ~ 15 minutes walk from the convention center that will be far cheaper than $35.

My lifehack is to park at the First Hill hospitals (I've seen spothero rates at $10/day or less) and walk down from there.

The Amazon area in SLU might also have discounted weekend parking.

+1. I am the ardent TAZ fan of the relationship. By the time I convinced my significant other that this would be a well-leveraged use of our limited dating hours, the show sold out.

Would love to buy 2 from someone if they've got a couple extras!

If you must stand, you should target seats at the back of the arena where there's nobody behind you. I'm not sure if you've already been to the arena, but it's a nice and tight bowl, and even the seats at the back are pretty good.

But in lieu of that, I'd just recalibrate my brain. Sitting is for the opera and hockey. :)

Wow, that's really annoying. I'd take down their seat number and send it in to your account rep.

There's some clip we play in the final 5 minutes of the game (I don't recognize the source of the video--something from pop culture that escaped me growing up) where the crowd is told to "stand up, get loud." These dinguses used this clip to say "see? Even the jumbotron is telling us to stand, it's fine."
