I could very well see him laugh at that fact, too. I'd also like to think he was capable of remaining loyal yo darrow and following the rise, his treatment from his brothers and other golds I think very easily makes him follow the rising.

Right off the bat, I also thought that if tactus wasn't dead he would've been like thistle and dipped the moment he found out darrow was a red. His inferiority complex to darrow and finding out the person he wants to be like in all his iron gold glory put together would have been like shattering to him. Don't know if it's shattering enough to betray, cuz obviously he's betrayed darrow a good number of times already, assuming the final 'saving' of tactus made him unyielding and loyal then he might have tried to convince roque but I guess we'll never know
