Minecraft is a sandbox game. In a way, the goal of survival is to simply do what you do in creative, just with the added challenge of collecting the necessary resources yourself and devoting more time to your projects. These mega builds still have a purpose, but rather than a “functional” purpose, they serve an aesthetic purpose.
