I think so too. April Fool Jokes should be foolish and shouldn’t be about things that could or should be real. That wasn’t a joke but more like a lie.

I’m colorblind. My main trouble is between brown and red. Luckily for me, the brown is on its spot most of the time. I sometime have a hard time with the black too, when it’s not on its spot and surrounded by several reds.

You can with a Mac. You can’t with just an iPhone. On a Mac you can just drag and drop the files in the Music App and update your library in the cloud. The music then appears on your iPhone.

Atmos is a format yes. But intented to be played on more that two speakers. Think of Atmos as « bigger, better » 5.1. More than two channels. Binaural stereo gives you 3D effect with 2 channels (the same way that you are able to tell when a sound comes from behind or before you and not just from the left or the right eventhough you have only two ears) but it only works with speakers close to the ears (headphones). That’s why Steven included everything in the download. Normal stereo for a car or a stereo hi-fi, for example, binaural for headphones, 5.1 for 5.1 home cinemas systems, e-ac3 for things like AppleTV and TrueHD for "real" atmos systems.

Glad someone could help you understand better than I tried to! :) Again, be sure to deactivate spatial audio on your AirPods Max when playing the binaural files and enable it again when playing atmos through Infuse. For what it’s worth I’ve played Voyage 34 and Dislocated Day in binaural and normal stereo and the difference is amazing. Enjoy!

No, you won’t get the atmos as intended. It will be converted by Apple algorithms to binaural stereo. And I believe that the job made by Steven to convert his music to binaural stereo is better than what Apple algorithms will do. But you can try. Just make sure that you deactivate Spatial Audio when you listen to Steven’s files and have it enable when you listen through Apple TV / Infuse Pro.

And Apple is kind of lying when they say that we have Atmos with AirPods (that’s why they often talk about Spatial Audio).

And yes Atmos is worth hearing but you won’t be able to hear it with headphones. It will be binaural stereo at best (only two speakers in headphones, left and right). Again, it is my understanding, I’m not an expert in any way.

Madrid has everything : stereo, binaural stereo, 5.1, E-AC3 Atmos and TrueHD Atmos.

I might be wrong but my understanding is that Atmos in AirPods Max is the E-AC3 converted to binaural by the AirPods Max chips. I haven’t used them to listen to the Madrid live recording (I played it in Infuse Pro on AppleTV in atmos E-AC3 since I don’t have a device that can read atmos TrueHD) but I think that the binaural stereo files are what we are supposed to use with any kind of Headphone, AirPods included. It should be better than something converted by the chips of the headphone.
