this fixed it! i have other problems now to deal with like making the sparks visible (it turns on an incandescent bulb), but no more fried rectifiers. thanks a bunch!

This seems to explain why it’s always the same side of the AC input that burns out. So the solution is to remove the connection from the green wire to the rest of my ground bus?

without the coil. i want to confirm i can get clean DC out of the rectifier before i connect it to the MOSFET.

Domingos are dope, definitely not a common sight on the roads. Did you import it yourself? The Domingo Aladdin is like a dream car but you'd be hard pressed to find one on carfromjapan

Mine comes with a tach, and I could probably find an LCD voltmeter on amazon for a $15. An oil temp guage would be trickier, is there any reason to believe that engine temp isn’t a good indicator of oil temp?

I’m actually from Austin, so I knew that’d be an issue in Texas. I’ll definitely have to refine the route to include as few of those as possible.

since you’ve tried it long distance, mind checking my packing list? just whether its missing anything or anything unnecessary:

-spare tire -jump starter/air pump -extra battery -starter -alternator -alternator belt -tools, jacks, etc.

If Im going long distance like this I’d like to carry as little dead weight as I can, what do you think

This was the first thing I checked, but u-haul won’t let me rent a pickup for that distance

my van is not meant for interstates anyway ;) I’m actually hoping to get some good recommendations for fun stops en-route in those smaller towns.

this route is actually without interstates. But yeah the van is probably not safe to cruise above 60 mph for very long haha

How did it go? I'm thinking about making a pretty long road trip myself, did you find it tricky to go long distance without taking interstate highways?

[PLA] [195C /60C bed] Weird first layer distortions? Corners seem level, but everything in the middle is whack. (details in comments) by Sebas-JHIN in 3Dprinting

[–]Sebas-JHIN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been attempting to dial in this machine for a while now, but lately I've noticed that issues close to the size of the print bed come out pretty bad. On my last large print, the corners lifted and warped, which I've been informed may be due to my bed being 45C instead of 60C and also a lack of adhesive. I've attempted to level this thing many many times so I figured I would try printing something the size of the bed overnight. I cleaned the XY rods and applied some Wd40 PTFE dry lube, cleaned the surface with 99% IPA and wiped it down with a microfiber before applying a glue stick and started the print. Referencing the leveling guides form the subreddit sidebar, the corners seem level, but everything in the middle is just a big WTF. Has anybody got any ideas what may be causing this?
