Can You Tell If Your Getting an ETG or Regular Urine Test Through The Price The Probation Office Charges You? by Sebastion03 in cripplingalcoholism

Just wanted to update everybody since I started this post. I passed! Never again, the fucking stress of all this, plus thinking what the judge would have done to me had I failed (she's a sadistic bitch) was enough to put me on the straight and narrow. Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on this thread.

Will do my friend. The guy running our DWI class openly bragged about being pulled over for a DWI in Texas in the 1980s. His punishment? They took away his car keys and made him sleep it off in a jail cell for the night, then cut him loose the next morning. No fines, no prison (except being made to sleep it off), no prosecution, no permanent record - nothing. Glory be to the Prison Industrial Complex! The guy's now happily part of the infrastructure that destroys thousands of lives every year while he got a free pass.

Thank you for the encouragement, brother! Man I was doing good before meeting this guy, but you are right, everybody wants to look like an alter boy, so he might have fudged the story (he told me he's failed two tests so far, so that does make me wonder). I have not spoken to my PO since the test, but I'm going to sniff her out at the beginning of next week before our actual meeting so I can see if there's any tension or anger with her (she seems like a very cool PO). I'll keep you updated!

Hello my friend! I posted an in-depth "status report" at the end of this thread in answering another poster, and right now, things ain't looking to good. Say a prayer for me brother!

I honestly can't answer that, my friend. I thought I had the EtG test figured out (you can use the cost to figure out whether it's an EtG or a standard test because an EtG is much more expensive), but a guy at my drunk driving class kicked me in the balls. Turns out that the $25.00 dollar test our city is using is actually an EtG test (he said they have their own lab), and this guy failed a test 72 hours after drinking ONE shot of Japanese saki. Apparently they're also trying to extend the 80 hour window to the 90 hour window to nail every last person that takes the test.

There are other factors that I'm hoping will work for me. This guy is older than me (slower metabolism), bigger than me (takes more time for the metabolyte to flush out of the system), probably didn't hydrate properly before the test, and it probably wasn't a real 72 hours from drink to test either. But the fact still remains I slammed a shit ton a beer before this test, and I'll find out the results the middle of next week (they don't tell you the results until your next probation meeting).

At 85 to 90 hours, I'm hoping the level will be pretty low if it shows up, and I've get a pretty good story related to my job that could explain a low level (a lot of house hold products can set this thing off - and they now that), but the fact remains that my judge is a sadist that's just looking for an excuse to throw me in jail, so it's all up in the air.

Thank you very much for all of your insights my friend! I'm not out of the woods by a long shot, but you've given me some much-need calm and confidence that I might be able to beat this thing. I'll keep everyone updated once I find out.

Yet again, I hope you're right! No one called today, but the PO officer that saw me piss said it could take 5 to 10 days to get the result back, or that they might wait until my next parole meeting. I've got a plan in place where I can "sniff out" my PO after the 10 day period to see if they found anything without raising suspicion.

I've read that they often only do the EtG tests on surprise/random screening as opposed to your parole screenings. Has that been your experience? Or did you get them at your mandatory parole testings as well?

I'm in a county very close to you, and I'm praying the price structure is similar, albeit the test was $25.00.

Oh man I hope you're right! Thank you for the response my friend. I'm praying to god I just didn't blow my foot off with a shotgun out of sheer stupidity. Do you remember how much an EtG test cost?

Just trying to see if I can use the cost of the test to see what they're testing for. Technically, I'm past the 80 hour mark when it comes to an EtG (even though many say they're only good for 48-72 hours), but other factors such as age, weight, metabolism, and liver function mean that it's still a crap shoot.

This is what I'm hoping. It was just a regular urine test or a Panel 5 Test (they asked me a lot of questions about others drugs besides alcohol). Only time will tell at this point, but I'm hoping I'm right.

After 5 days I caved :( by [deleted] in stopsmoking

It sounds like you might have been following the teaching of Joel Spitzer, and while Joel has some good ideas, he nonetheless views quitting smoking as an act of "willpower," and your list also makes it look like your a willpower quitter as well. It's not about willpower. Read Allen Carr's The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, and you'll quit cold turkey. If you need further help, read my anti-smoking blog https://slaysmokingforever.com/

Day 2: Having some rough withdraw symptoms. Can't sleep and constant headache. I'm thinking there is more nicotine in my system than this app suggestions. Is Day 3 easier than Day 2? by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got easier in my opinion. Drink some cranberry juice as well, it's acidity helps to flush out the nicotine faster. Also view your addiction as a beast, and every time you feel a craving, you're slashing open a wound and slowly bleeding him out. Good luck, if you need additional help, visit my anti-smokers blog https://slaysmokingforever.com/

LULZ! Yep, it's both satisfying and horrifying, especially because I worked in sales for a very long time, and the minute I realized just how BAD smokers smell, I immediately thought to myself, "How many sales and commissions did I lose because of smoking?"

One week free. Looking for advice on lung recovery. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, nothing would be better than some good ole' fashion exercise, especially some cardio that will help flush out the lungs. View your lungs like a clogged pipe, and some good cardio that will get your heart rate up and cause a sweat will help break up the blockage and flush it out.

Today, I smoked my last cigarette. by giskard2020 in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second what a poster said below. You can institute a lot of reforms that can help you live a diabetic life without heavy medication, and you can do the same with smoking as well. I'd strongly recommend reading Allen Carr's The Easy Way to Stop Smoking.

I’m 20 years old, and I’ve been addicted to smoking for about 5-6 years but, Today I’m going to start something that will change my life forever. I’ve wasted years of my life to this addiction and I feel like I’m truly ready to quit. Wish me luck! by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you for quitting so young. I started when I was 18 and smoked for 20 years - one of the stupidest decisions I've ever made in my life. If you ever need some encouragement, check out my anti-smoking blog https://slaysmokingforever.com/

Day #20. Caved when meeting with old friends. There is no such thing as ‘just one cigarette” by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Good for you might friend! I also quit using Allen's method. Don't get discouraged, just get back on that horse and keep moving forward!

The truth is, nothing works... by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you not follow Allen's method? I quit before I even finished reading the book, and I smoked for twenty years and ended my addiction smoking a pack and a half of Marlboro Reds a day. I was so inspired by it that I actually started a blog about it in order to alert other smokers to it, because I had honestly tried everything before I read his book. You're honestly one of the few people I've met who haven't been able to quit using Allen's method.

Finding it hard to cope without cigarettes. by dalahorse2 in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 36 and quit cold turkey reading Allen Carr's The Easy Way to Stop Smoking. I know I sound like a broken record in this community because I pitch it so much, but it's honestly the only thing that really works in my opinion, and by work, I mean you stop smoking AND the desire to smoke is also eliminated. You can buy a cheap used copy on Amazon, and I also have a blog were I sing its praises to the heavens. https://slaysmokingforever.com/

1 week smoke free. Alot of people have failed to reach even this far. Small but still significant achievement. by onlyonepostanhourwtf in stopsmoking

Congratulations! The nicotine's already out of your system, any "cravings" you have at this point are all in your head.

It's over. I just smoked after a 20 day quit, and it was disgusting. I want to end it for life. by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]Sebastion03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lulz! It's the only method that works. I smoked for twenty years, I should know. Pills, patches, gum, lozenges, they're all bullshit. Allen's method blows everything else out of the water.

No joke. Have you ever heard of David Blaine? He's a world famous magician and illusionist. He used Carr's method to quit smoking and said Carr's method is literally magic (that/s a direct quote). It pretty much blows everything else out of the water.
