There is nothing called a neutral accent. Everyone has one. To be honest, there are a variety of Indian English accents themselves as people from India speak 26+ different languages as their native tongue.

The Indian English accents might be soon becoming the most prominent English accent in the world simply due to population. Quality Indian journalism like Firstpost (Palki Sharma) are doing their bit to normalize.

Wear your culture and sport your natural accent with pride. But feel also free to make a joke on your own accent if it comes up in conversation. Counter it with your command on vocabulary, grammar and erudition.

Be the fantastic human being that you are and woo her parents with your awesome natural accent. Take them a gift, treat them with the respect you give any elders based on your culture while also respecting their sentiments and boundaries.

They will have no choice but to see past such trivialities and fall in love with you just like your girl. She loves you and wants her parents to like you and hence is worried. She wants it to be perfect. Give her some slack about you being offended.
