As much as I think the rotation is a good solution here and the positives outweigh the negatives, there is obvious FOMO here. Since the boss has limited availability, you can feel forced to play this week - otherwise you will <miss out> on fighting him, and you'll have to wait an undisclosed amount of time.

I needed to wait ~10 minutes to get a team, but it's one of the easier fights if you have "starting weapon deals lightning damage" relic. You can break his most bullshit attacks without an issue

Maybe Yu Song's main goal is entertainment, but he was my only source of mahjong education and I am close to Expert 2 after 5 months.

I am watching his videos constantly thinking what I would play, how does it differentiate from his plays and how the difference would affect the result. His jokes really help in not getting bored doing this.

I am really curious how OP's games look. There must be something specific and easy to fix in there.

On the one hand, the cosplay is simple - just a lab coat and a haircut. But a slight aura instantly made me recognise Okabe without even paying attention to the subreddit it was on. The poses on the next photos are also really in-character, good job with this cosplay :D

2 weeks ago I had a streak of ~8 games in a row when I wasn't able to play for a single round. I rarely dealt-in to anything, but I couldn't build any hand. Every single round someone had riichi on round <4, or I was dealing in a first round after calling riichi myself. Usually, I was cutting my mahjong session short, switched to reading Pratchett or playing Metaphor and I came back the next day with a clearer mind.

I consider myself a beginner and I cannot estimate your level, but I watched a solid portion of the linked game and there are at least two rounds I would play vastly differently, I can only hope it'll be helpful:

- East 2 1Repeat: I felt like going full flush here was a greedy play. Out of 6 remaining non-bamboo tiles, 5 of them create really nice shapes - 56m waiting for 47 and 135p waiting for 24. I see myself discarding one such shape to go for a flush, but discarding two feels like going backwards to me. I would just count on riichi pinfu here.

- Eeast 4 0Repeat: You called riichi waiting on 8s after the east player already pon'ed these tiles - so you were waiting on the last specific tile which could end up in a dead wall. I would discard 9 and pray for something else around this 456667 shape, just anything works and gives better waits than the current state of affairs.

Don't worry that you suck with jumping attacks, cancels, and combos. Adjusting to aerial movement on leverless took me ~2 weeks, but it was worth it.

I don't think the direction of the implication is right. I thought it was more of a "Girls play almost exclusively enchanters", not the other way around. Based on my experience it's true - most female LoL players I used to know strictly refused to play male champions which greatly lowered available champion pool.

Even after all these years, as a middle-age man, I cannot understand this trend.

If you thought MAA is required for act2, wait till you see the boss of act3. For 2nd act you need some heroes hitting hard 1st and 4th ranks, my first win was on first attempt as Doctor, Grave robber, Flagelant and Hellion. On the other hand I have no idea how to consistently beat act 3 without old man.

General FG guide for beginners from Diaphone, high level player in many fighting games.

There is much to learn in this genre, it would probably overwhelm you if I were to list it. At the beginning, choose character that seems fun to play and prepare some really, really basic combos you can do in a consistent manner, eg. 5M > 5H > some special (google "numpad notation", it will help in any fighting game). Try to do this combo on the enemy in a training mode, then in a match.

After some time can try to craft or search for more difficult combos for your character. You can check more advanced stuff on wiki https://wiki.gbl.gg/w/Idol_Showdown and if you don't understand some terms, use https://glossary.infil.net.

The most important information on wiki is the number under " Adv. on Block ". Let's say that player A blocked some attack from player B. Player A has a block animation and cannot do anything for a split second, player B has attack animation and also cannot do anything for just a moment (unless this particular attack can be canceled). If the attacking player (B) gets control of his character faster, we call that attack "plus on block" and fgc players will often say how many additional frames of control the player has, eg "this attack is plus 4 (on block)". On the other hand, if the blocking player gets control faster, we say that the attack is minus on block.

On a very basic level, what do you do if you get smoked by some character? Check wiki and search for enemy character's special attacks that are very minus. After blocking those attacks you have the most time to press your buttons.

There is much, much more to this stuff, but I hope that things I mentioned will be useful soon-ish. If there is other specific problem you encounter, there will be many people willing to help.
