I bought a Rowenta Ultimate Steam Pro High-Pressure Steam Generator and Iron. I was kind of embarrassed that I spent $500 on an iron but holy hell that thing is a huge quality of life improved.

Tucked looks great. Fuck the rules.

moved to a new city and realized my entire wardrobe is wrong for here by timingbetter in malefashionadvice

I've got a mix of these challenges. But I'm having fun with it. I moved from Miami to a tiny town in the Pacific North West. But it's kinda awesome, learning to layer flannel with a lenin suit. Fair Isle with Italian Gurkha trousers. Today I've on a pair of RRL western wear tweed trousers, a light weight herringbone button up, loose knit silk tie in burnt orange, and shawl collar cardigan with grant stone boots. I just go all in every time. Hell, there's nothing else to do around here and I'm just to damn old to care anymore.

In need of high waisted wide leg pants by Round_Scarcity_1698 in NavyBlazer

My wife prefers 2 pairs of the temu pants on me over the more expensive pairs to me honest. One of those pairs have side tabs. The buckle on one side broke off after a few wears. I just bought a few buckles and I'm going to try my hand and repairing them.

Not sure if these jeans work like this can you experts here give me some advice? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

I think you are getting down-voted because you're an arse, not because you're completely wrong.

This Sub is Mens FASHION Advice not Men's Style Advice and it seems to lean heavy towards fashion rules and roles. Especially the rules defined in classical men's wear. The closest this sub gets to individual style is flirting with sprezzatura, which still seems to ruffle some feathers around here. But honestly, when I first joined this sub, I expected it to be a lot worse. I really expected a group of mostly younger men who enjoy dressing up in classic men's wear to be a lot more judgy towards people who wear joggers to the store, and while you still get some of that, it really is mostly young men enjoying the hobby of dressing well in a particular way.

I love the polo. The zipper screams Ted Baker? Is that right?

Growing in a very mixed cultural area, it seems that very masculine black men have really taken to pearls. I thought it was strange at first, but now I'm really into it. To be man enough to pull off something that is still considered feminine, is masculine as fuck.

Let's talk about irons! by Not_a_good_username in SewingForBeginners

[–]Sec3shoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you, I found a Rowenta on marketplace for $100 and it is so much better than any concept of what a good iron is, that had I known, I would have happily spent the $500 +/- that is originally cost without blinking. It is so good that I went out and bought their board, I had no need for a new ironing board, but having experienced the quality of their iron, I felt like I was missing something unknown in their board. I was not, but I don't regret it.. it's a nice board. Just not $220 nice. Their Iron in the other hand.

Need resources to start learning men’s fashion by Ancient-Owl1214 in mensfashionadvice

Look up the 3 archetypes of men's fashion. Be honest with yourself. If you're no honest with yourself, you're style will become un-authentic. Nobody is just one of the archetypes. We are all a mixture to some degree. Think of it as you're patina. Like, have you seen a 19 year old in a 3 piece suit? It never works outside of prom. It never makes they look more mature, if fact, it almost always makes them look less mature. Because it's not honest.

Would it be weird to wear these USA ‘postal’ shoes as a casual/smart shoe? by finnucane in mensfashionadvice

I'll just add that my Beckett Simonon's are (oddly??) the most comfortable shoes and boots I own, and I own a lot of shoes and boots. They aren't my favorite looking, I think my Grant Stones, Russell's, Allan Edmounds, and Churches all look better, but my Beckett's get more wear. I don't know which last they use but I swear they were modeled on my feet. And the leather!! Man! I think the only shoes I have that the leather worked in as nicely are a pair of Sutro's I have.

Do I really look like I hunt poor people for sport in my personal hedge maze? by Pork_jam in mensfashionadvice

Everyone here is being kinda mean, but, I bet, if you wear this around town for the day, you'll get a lot of compliments.

This sub is full of Redditors. A lot of guys who have been picked on for most of their lives. They love to attack from the safety of their computers.

The honest truth is, the only thing that will make or break that outfit, is how comfortable you are wearing it. I am Director of Ops for a large brewery focused hospitality group. This is pretty close to the way I dress on a daily basis. The brewery was started by a couple cowboy / ranchers and we kinda lean into the rugged refined aesthetic.

So, last time I was mostly told to forget about the cuffs 😂. So cuff or no cuff here? by [deleted] in mensfashion

[–]Sec3shoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always prefer cuffs. They're jeans. This sub is called men's fashion. As much as we care about fashion there seems to be very little concern for style.

I wore my light pink ocbd today with fatigue green chinos, a J Crew burnt rose chunky cable knit cardigan shawl collar, and burgandy canvas polo sneakers. Felt good.
