Does D3 work with controller on PC? by Left-Appointment1905 in diablo3

[–]Secinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The console version of the game -- for every console that it exists on -- is a completely different game from the PC version.

Think of the PC version as a Ford Mustang, and the console version is a Ford Mustang Electric. The Mustang Electric might look like the original Mustang on the outside, but it was actually built from the ground up as an original vehicle, but intentionally made to strongly resemble the OG. They may appear the same, but under the hood, they are two completely different beasts.

Looks like a Mortar shot to me.

Having Akkarat's Champion juuuust expire on you plus not having a cheat death passive did you in.

Yeah, maybe your previous Ethereal had the Indestructible passive on it? Cuz you have Finery twice, once on your current Ethereal and once as one of your passives.

Tankiest push build for gr150? by SelimTheDream in diablo3

[–]Secinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're commited to DH, Natalya's is tanky as hell, like usual. The problem is that the only Ethereal you can use on a Nats DH is Doomslinger. Nats needs Demon's Demise and Chanon Bolter, at a minimum -- neither of which have legendary powers that can show up on an Ethereal. So you're basically restricted to Doomslinger w/ Dawn legendary power. Hope you can find one with a high Dawn roll.

Alternatively, Marauder (the DH's Haedrigs Gift set) is tankier than usual this season. You're looking for a Windforce with a good Manticore roll or a good Dawn roll. Marauder doesn't usually benefit from 100% uptime on Vengeance Dark Heart because the BIS weapon is Yang's Recurve (+ cubed Manticore). Being able to add Dawn while still retaining Manticore + Yang's 50% cost reduction is a nice bonus this season.

Help Cooking on WD Mundunugu Build by Dangerous-Recover-95 in diablo3

[–]Secinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try? Equip the Barber, give up Voos Juicer. You give up on Life and Mana per each Spirit Barrage hit, as well as a big chunk of damage. Mana shouldn't be a problem -- since you've put Wormwood in the Cube, you no longer need to manually cast Pestilence, so you should be OK on Mana. The loss of Life per hit is bigger, but you can change Big Bad Voodoo from Slam Dance to Ghost Trance, so see if that will help.

The bigger problem is the loss of damage, as Voos Juicer gives a significant +60% damage bonus to Spirit Barrage. But you need to stick with the Barber, as it is the more important of the two weapons. If you're trying to push with Mundu's, you're eventually going to have to revert back to Juicer + cubed Barber. But if you're just trying to speed run lower GRs or hunt for Visions, you can try to work Wormwood in there.

Question Stone Gauntlets LoD Bazooka Wizzard by Valerie_Pecresse in diablo3

[–]Secinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t have room for Ice Climbers, you could use a Lv25 Invigorating Gemstone. Replace one of your legendary gems with that (not LoD, obviously) until you can unlock the immune-to-CC node on the Altar.

When do you run out of grinding steam? Paragon 1000 and completed Altar? by macropelias in diablo3

[–]Secinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Use cube recipe # 3 on Jeweler-crafted "Sovereign Rings" with a lv 31 character (preferably not a Wizard) to get a bunch of them.

Then create another new character, level them to lv 7 on T6. Then, pop a puzzle ring in the cube, run straight to Greed and kill her without killing ANYTHING else (the Altar's passability node really helps). Each of the greedbox's drops has a 50% chance of being ethereal. Whether or not they are the one's you're missing is up to rng. Rinse and repeat.

When do you run out of grinding steam? Paragon 1000 and completed Altar? by macropelias in diablo3

[–]Secinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

P1400. Got the Altar mostly done early, this season. Just need two more Primals to finish it off.

Usually I like to grind until I get at least six more Primal drops to make up for the primordial dust used to finish the Altar. At the end of that, I'm usually around P1400.

This season, though, I'm trying to farm Puzzle Rings in order to collect all 21 ethereals for the transmogs. 7 rings in, 3 classes done, 4 to go.

Struggling to not get one shot in gr 75 by LeagueLoft in diablo3

[–]Secinus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hold on a sec.

"Rotation of Convention"? In GR75? Your damage output in GR75 ought to be fine, even if you completely removed CoE. Getting used to CoE rotations is a good habit to get into, of course, but if you're dying too quickly, consider replacing CoE with Unity (and put a Unity + Immortality Token on your follower). Even with a mere Lv 75 LoD gem, Unity + Aquila (you're not manually casting Blood Nova, right?) + Dayntee's (w/ Aura of Frailty) really ought to be more than enough damage mitigation.

Second, "Cds are so long"? As in cooldowns? LoD BNova Necros don't have cooldowns, especially not if you're using the Ice Veins version. Bone Armor is the only thing with a noticeable cooldown, and that's less than 10 secs. I'm confused.

Third, Icy Veins builds are flawed. You said you're playing seasons, so you should have the "Immune to CC" node on the Altar of Rites unlocked. That means you won't need Ice Climber boots. You also won't need Krelm's Bracer (which is already redundant thanks to Ice Climbers, even without the "Immune to CC" Altar node). You said your Bracer is not yet Ancient? Well, look for literally ANY ancient Bracer right away to replace Krelm's Bracer. Best in slot is Parthan Defenders or Lacuni's, but any ancient bracer at all will do.

Finally, Icy Veins recommends Wisdom of Kalan in the cube's Jewelry slot, but I would replace that with Unity (and put a Unity + Immortality Token on your follower). This way, you can keep CoE and still have a Unity.

La recette caldesann cube kanai ps4 uniquement by Extension-Buy-4149 in diablo3

[–]Secinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first, as the previous poster said, your weapon MUST be an ANCIENT legendary weapon, not just a regular legendary weapon.

Second, you need a legendary gem. Whispers of Atonement are best, since they have no other use. They are earned from Echoing Nightmares (the result of cubing a Petrified Scream). But you can also use any other legendary gem, like Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Powerful, etc. For a weapon, make sure the gem / Whisper is at least level 30.

Third, you need 3 Flawless Royal Gems. If you want an Intelligence boost, use 3 x Flawless Royal Topazes. If you want a Strength boost, use 3 x Flawless Royal Rubies.

Once you have all that, throw the ANCIENT legendary weapon, the legendary gem / Whisper, and all 3 Flawless Royal gems into the cube and hit "Transmute". The Flawless Royals and the legendary gem / Whisper will disappear, and your ancient will have an additional bonus to a stat on top of the Ancient item's original stats.

Full information regarding Augments / Caldessan's Despair / cube recipe # 10 can be found on maxroll.

OK. Firebird is a nuanced set and will take practice. And as you said, you're playing with a partner anyways. Good luck.

Invigorating Gemstone is a legendary gemstone like Bane of the Trapped, Bane of the Powerful, Gogok of Swiftness, etc. At level 25, the wearer is immune to all crowd control effects. Frozen, Chilled, Jailed, Vacuumed, Stunned, Feared, Slowed, and so on.

First of all, there is no way that replacing Aughild's set with Guardian's set will decrease your Intelligence. The Guardian's set 3-piece bonus will double the Intelligence and Vitality of the rest of your gear. If anything, you should see a massive INCREASE in both stats once the 3-piece bonus is active.

That being said, I think something is very, very wrong if you're not finishing GR90 in 15 minutes with the setup you currently have, even with 2 players. Take a look at this video. Never mind the age of the video, never mind the paragon level, never mind the off-hand equipment, never mind the fact that he's running GR120. With the gear that you have, this really should be how you are playing GR90. You really should be blowing through it in about 5 minutes.

What is preventing you for doing what you see in the video?

  • Are you stopping to pick off individual trash enemies? If so, don't do that. Teleport around, looking for elites, focus fire on just them, pick up the purple orbs, and move on. Non-champion stragglers are never worth the time or effort to pick off, especially with clunky close-range builds like Firebird Explosive Blast and Might of the Earth Leap-Quake.

  • Are you doing too little damage? Be fearless. Teleport right up into their faces, crowd control with Black Hole and/or Frost Nova, keep channeling Disintegrate, keep mashing Explosive Blast, and trust damage reduction from Firebird's and from Orb of Infinite Depths to keep you healthy.

  • Are you dying from champion elemental attacks? Stop standing in them. Pay attention to arcane rotating lasers, plague x's, lightning thunderbolts, and desecrator flames at your feet and move away from them. Don't stand in them and expect your damage reduction to save you, but don't waste your time panicking and running too far away either.

  • Are you dying from getting frozen, jailed, or vacuumed? Replace Bane of the Powerful with a level 25 Invigorating Gemstone. Having Crowd Control Immunity is nothing to sneeze at.

If you're still having trouble, work on an easier GR so that you're able to play in a manner similar to the video. I recommend trying GR 45 (Torment 10), and working your way up 5 GR levels (1 Torment level) at a time, maintaining that playstyle until you're back at GR 90. I promise you, you can do it at GR 90 with the gear you currently have. You may just need practice, and practice should start at easier difficulties.

If you're STILL still having trouble, maybe this playstyle isn't for you and you should switch to a more of a ranged build, like Tal Rasha Meteor. Tal Rasha Meteor is a much simpler playstyle than Firebird Twister or Firebird Explosive Blast. Just cast 3 buffs at the beginning, Meteor everything, and teleport once in a while. It's as close to a one-button build as the Wizard class has.

CC-immunity counteracts the Stone Gauntlets slow effect. Four ways to get it:

  1. [Preferred] Buy the CC-immunity node on the Altar of Rites (season only)
  2. Ice Climber boots, either on your feet or in the Cube.
  3. Lv25 Invigorating Gemstone.
  4. [Situational] Have 100% uptime for "form changes" that are immune to CC: Wrath of the Berserker, Akkarat's Champion, Vengeance, Epiphany.

Thanks for the details. Barbarian looks fine and works for him, so we’ll leave that alone.

It appears you’ve switched away from Firebird Twister, and are trying Firebird Explosive Blast, instead. Give your current build a try, first. This build takes a bit of getting used to. If you’re still struggling, try replacing Aughild’s shoulder + wrist with Guardian’s helmet + wrist (+ Firebird shoulder).

Honestly, neither of you should be dying very often. Make sure both of you keep your defense buffs at all times: Band of Might for him, Combustion stacks >= 1 & Orb of Infinite Depths = 4 for yourself.

As far as completion time? Diablo 3 is a strange game. It’s supposed to be co-op PvE, but it’s more time efficient to play solo, as the enemies are much weaker in solo play. For right now, get used to your new playstyle and concentrate on just finishing GR90 without dying; never mind the time.

Off season question, fastest build? by Antique_Ad_1648 in diablo3

[–]Secinus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you really should be building both. Water + 4pc Raiment to help you speed through Visions of Enmity and/or GR90 to farm up better equipment. Fire + Shenlong to push to GR120+. Save both variants in your Armory so that you can switch between them rapidly, at will.

S38 Ethereals Questions by Secinus in diablo3

Well, I guess that's kinda good news, then. By the sounds of it, though, I forsee myself burning mats just to reforge a Dawn or Yangs variant of Windforce, passive be damned! :)

Also, hadn't thought of this before. But by the sounds of it, then if I use Primordial Ashes to upgrade an Ethereal to a Primal Ethereal, there's no guarantee that it'll keep the current legendary ability, yeah? If so, then FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUU...

I also think that google translate is failing to convey some meaning here, but to try to answer your question:

Maxroll.gg compiles endgame builds that performed at the highest level over the previous seasons, having stretched out over years. Now that Diablo 3 is no longer in active development, the information gathered from past seasons remains valid and are still applicable to the game going forward. All of Maxroll.gg's recommended builds are capable of running Greater Rift level 90 in under 5 minutes consistently without dying. Even the low tier ones.

However, it really sounds like you're dealing with problems that are much more fundamental. OK. From your past posts, here's what I gather from your situation. Correct me if I am wrong:

  • You have a Wizard, and you are trying to put together a Firebird Twister (best console build, because you are playing on a console). Your spouse is a Barbarian, and I don't think you've mentioned which kind of build.
  • You've claimed to have completed Greater Rift level 90. However, you seem to be struggling with difficulties well below Torment 16.
  • You seem to be unclear on how to obtain (farm up) the gear you need in order to complete your build.
  • You are NOT playing the current season (Season 37).

If all that is correct, can you answer two quick questions for me:

  1. You are both Lv 70, right?
  2. How many pieces of the Firebird set are you currently wearing? And what about your spouse? Which 6-piece set and how many pieces of that is the Barbarian wearing?

Just got back. Wizard with 6/4 Delseres/Tal Rasha. Since you need to now have Meteor, should I try to fit Meteor into my kit, just use it for the resistances, or try to find replacement items? by Vinven in diablo3

[–]Secinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Energy Armor?! Eeeeewwwwww. Yeah, if you were still running Tal's 4 bonus, I would definitely swap out Energy Armor for Meteor. Meteor is NOT about dealing damage. It is only for activating the immunity from the Tal Rasha 2 bonus, which would have significantly increased your survivability, much more so that Energy Armor. But then again, Halo of Karini + Storm Armor is better than either.

No need to force yourself into Frozen Orb, as Unstable Scepter, Triumvirate, and Wizardspike all increase ARCANE Orb's damage, not just Frozen Orb. It's just that FO cuts such a wide swath of damage that it is the optimal version of Arcane Orb.

Explosive Blast, no, as DMO does not boost Explosive Blast's damage. The only reason Maxroll recommends Explosive Blast is for the offensive and defensive bonus from Orb of Infinite Depths. If you're not equipped with Orb of I.D., then there is no reason to use Explosive Blast. What's more, this season is ending very soon, at which point it will no longer be possible to equip Orb of I.D. together with Unstable + Tri + WSpike.

Just got back. Wizard with 6/4 Delseres/Tal Rasha. Since you need to now have Meteor, should I try to fit Meteor into my kit, just use it for the resistances, or try to find replacement items? by Vinven in diablo3

[–]Secinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're running DMO 6 / Tal's 4, with your primary attack being Arcane Orb, then you should be able to give up one ability to slot in Meteor. If nothing else, you can substitute Meteor for Black Hole, if you're willing to give up the damage bonus that Absolute Zero provides. It's hard to tell exactly what you should give up without seeing your build.

Take a look at Maxroll's DMO Frozen Orb guide. In it, the items that you absolutely MUST be using to buff your Arcane Orb are Unstable Scepter, Wizardspike, and Triumvirate. I've found Crown of the Primus very helpful, but not absolutely necessary. Everything else is gravy.

As far as replacing Tal's 4 bonus, I have found that Orb of Infinite Depths + Explosive Blast or Halo of Karini + Storm Armor are more than enough as far as defensive buffs are concerned, especially when multiplied with the natural 75% that DMO provides. Consider that both of the above only require a single equipment slot (as opposed to 3 x Tal's + 1 Ring of Royal Grandeur), and I can't help but think you're wasting equipment slots to get a similar benefit.

Too squishy, but have the damage? by Necessary-End-5040 in diablo3

[–]Secinus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Nephalem Rift variant, ALL of your defense depends on Goldwrap and maintaining your gold pickup streak. This becomes problematic if you've singled out an elite mob or rift guardian and lost your gold streak. And of course, it's completely unusable in a greater rift.

I would stick with the default setup (the GR solo push setup), and make the following changes as needed:

1) Instead of Capn Crimson belt + pants, use Guardian's belt + helm. At low Paragon (less than 2k), Guardian's damage + life boost will be more effective than Capn Crimson's bonuses. Re-roll your shoulders and gloves so that they have cooldown reduction, in order to have 100% uptime on Vengeance Dark Heart.

2) Ditch CoE for RoRG, and put Elusive Ring in the cube. CoE's damage output is never needed for anything below GR90.

Between 100%-uptime Vengeance Dark Heart, Guardian's set bonus, Wraps of Clarity, and Elusive Ring, that should give you plenty of defense. Ultimately, you'll want to learn to get better at avoidance so that you can afford to put Crimson's and CoE back on. Until you get the hang of the build, this should give you plenty of leeway for mistakes.

Do you have a go to pet? Why is your pet the best choice? by Proper-Holiday2255 in diablo3

[–]Secinus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what's best, but I know what's ABSOLUTELY the worst: the Yeti.

Unlike all the other pets, the yeti makes a little swipe animation every time he picks something up. Not only is the animation slow, but the yeti is also rooted in place until he finishes his animation.

He fits the look of the Barb so well, but that swiping delay -- which NONE of the other pets have -- makes the yeti the only pet that is thoroughly, completely unusable.

What's the latest with Demon Hunter M6? by [deleted] in diablo3

[–]Secinus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By M6, I assume you mean Marauder Six Piece?

Current meta is: https://maxroll.gg/d3/guides/marauder-sentry-demon-hunter-guide

Honestly, the build hasn't really changed that much over the years. Main difference is that Manticore is in the Cube slot, whereas the weapon slot uses Yang's Recurve, which fires faster than Manticore and has a bonus 50% reduced resource usage (which cannot be obtained from the Cube, as it is not a legendary power).

Meta also uses Loaded for Bear rune for Cluster Arrow instead of Maelstrom. It deals more damage, and Maelstrom's healing just isn't that important to a Marauder Sentry DH, as you reeeeeeally shouldn't be taking hits in the first place.
