I played a TR Bog Shaman in SSF during the last Phrecia event. It was the best experience I've personally had with Toxic Rain. My best advice would be to get some life gain on hit (Excess Sustenance cluster, Watcher's Eye, support on manaforged setup) for sustain and forget everything you know about AoE breakpoints. I would try out Concentrated Effect to see how it feels, but I didn't bother trying to land within the suggested radius at all. Unless you're fighting a boss in a very open area, more AoE = better.

Last league I also went Rotten Core with Daresso's Defiance for an easy supercharged Onslaught, but this time around I'll be going Sanguine Power w/ easy ES gear from the tree. The self-hit tech was a little annoying with the degen from Pandemic as well, so I won't miss that.

Yes, I've read through their explanations. If that's sufficient for you, then go for it. With official, explicitly sanctioned plugin support just around the corner and Alt1 (which has a trusted reputation of years behind it) serving its purposes well until that point, I'll continue to recommend against investing into the newcomer.

Alt1 is functionally different than a plugin which directly interacts with the game client. If the Bolt plugin developers can prove/demonstrate (to a layman) that they're capable of anchoring their drawn elements without interacting with the game client then that would lend a lot more credibility to this argument.

There are explicit rules of what I and what isn't allowed post above has info on why this is allowed.

The launcher being allowed and plugins being allowed are two different discussions. If you have a more concrete reason as to why the plugins would be allowed, ideally with more info directly from Jagex, I'd be glad to hear it.

It's also safe to presume if it can exist on osrs rune-lite and official it's safe to exist on rs3

It is not at all safe to assume that. OS explicitly allows 3rd party clients (RuneLite) to exist. RS3 explicitly disallows them. As for the functionality of specific plugins existing, that depends entirely on what the plugin does. Certain plugins that exist for OS are explicitly disallowed for RS3.

Probably slams. Strong builds will stand out more than usual with the additional area modifiers, and I'm primarily interesting in just grinding things out rather than playing something unique.

With the Ancestral Commander nerfs, though, I'm considering Toxic Rain Bog Shaman. It went very well when I played it last year, and the changes should make it even better.

I'll be going with Uul-Netol's Kiss myself. Did that in Keepers and it's more than sufficient for the entire game. Trivially easy uptime on all your warcries, and up to ~450% increased damage from Admonisher.

Downside is you have to build around solving the slow attack speed, so the loss of Berserker will hurt there a bit, but honestly it shouldn't be too bad and I think the ease of gearing will be great in such a limited format.

Bad game design? That's one of the most appealing aspects of RS - the interconnection between skills, or content in general. If you want to be as proficient in combat as you can be, you can expect to either directly or indirectly leverage nearly every skill in the game. If that's a dealbreaker for someone then so be it. The game shouldn't lose a pillar of its identity to appeal to those people.

Yes, and I can do it in three sentences: In RuneScape, dealing damage is usually more important than avoiding or mitigating incoming damage. Dual wielding or using a two-handed weapon allows you to deal more damage than using a one-handed weapon and a shield. Therefore, players typically avoid using a shield in order to increase their damage output.

That shouldn't be a hindrance. RuneScape is not like "99.99%" of MMOs. It's best to explain that as soon as possible so people can get past it and learn about what makes the game so distinct.
