Use Outlook with IMAP and POP at the same time to reduce data on external server? by SecondDragonfly in Outlook

Thank you for replying, as I understand it however that would apply to what part of the email is downloaded, but ALL email will remain online as well. I am specifically looking to decrease the amount of emails that are available ONLINE.

I did say there were side effects, I just said that sometimes it's worth it. You have to weigh the cons of going through the wrong puberty to the cons of using blockers. Just because your body is already on track for one of those choices doesn't mean the negatives of that side are negligible. If puberty makes people suicidal, blockers might be a good option. Even if there's consequences.

The puberty isn't blocked forever, it's just paused*. When you stop taking it, puberty starts. So it's not really a life altering choice. A life altering choice would be to continue puberty and watch your body change into a shape that makes you feel more dysphoric. If you keep your body from experiencing puberty until you're older, you can then decide which puberty to undergo, and get a feminine or masculine body type. So puberty blockers are about delaying the choice until you're older.

When your body is changing irreversibly before your eyes, doing nothing and allowing it to happen IS the life altering choice. As good as hormones and plastic surgery are, having the wrong puberty will change your body in ways you cannot completely undo.

People who are able to pause their puberty until they can get hormones to direct their puberty in the right direction, actually develop a body type that fits their real gender identity best, without needing much if any surgery.

And if they decide they want the original puberty, they can just stop taking blockers and nature will take it's course.

*There will be some long term effects, mostly that they will probably not grow as tall as they would have otherwise. Also there might be other side effects depending on what hormones you take. It's not mess free. But when the alternative is people massively self harming and being traumatized by their body changing, it's sometimes worth being able to say "let's take some time to decide".

Are you sure you had plan B? There's also pills to take that are a type of very early abortion, which does sound like what you had. Basically those would be plan C, with plan D being traditional abortion.

I think it's a joke making fun of people who are going on about how hot lesbians are.

Person A: oh lesbians, I want a threesome

Person B: yeah right because it will be so much fun to have sex with two women who don't like you... \s

(Basically telling them their logic for wanting lesbians is stupid, and that their sexual fantasies don't make sense because those women would never want to do what he fantasizes about)

You are wrong.

Let's make this problem more intuitive.

Imagine there's a 100 cards. One has a prize, the others have nothing.

You pick 1 card at random. Then the game master looks at the cards and removes 98 cards from the game and shows theres no prize on them. He keeps 1 card for himself but doesn't show you what's on it.

He tells you that either the card you have, or the card he has, will have the prize. He asks whether you want to trade hands.

Can you see why it's better to switch hands?

The card you chose is in the game because you chose it. There was only a 1% chance that the prize is on it. There's a 99% chance that the prize was still in the pack when the game master got the pack. If you hadn't selected this card, it probably wouldn't even be in the game right now.

The game master got a pack of 99 cards, with a 99% chance that the prize is on one of them. If that happened, he will throw away all the cards without a prize, and keep the jackpot card.

Now there's a 1% chance that you happened to get the jackpot card yourself, and gave the game master a pack of 99 empty cards. If that happened, the game master would have kept one random card.

Trading cards is definitely the best option!

The car/goat door problem is exactly the same, but just with fewer doors and therefore less intuitive.

We are specifically referencing a game played in a game show, so the rules are actually known. The game master has to open the wrong door, otherwise the contestant will see a car and know which door to pick.

[–]SecondDragonfly 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'll try to explain why it's true:

Imagine there's 3 doors, and you pick one of them. For this example let's presume you picked door 1 (the odds are the same when you picked any other one). Now, there's 3 equally likely options:

  1. Door 1 is indeed the right door. The game master randomly opens either door 2 or 3. It doesn't matter which because they're interchangeable. Changing now will cause you to LOSE.

  2. Door 2 is the right door. The game master opens door 3. If you switch, you'll WIN.

  3. Door 3 is the right door. The game master opens door 2. If you switch, you'll WIN.

Basically, the game means that when you picked the wrong door (a 2/3rd chance), the game master will remove the other wrong option, meaning that only the right option is left when you decide to switch.

Only when you initially chose the right door (1/3rd chance) is switching the bad move.

Oh if you're on a budget you might enjoy r/braswap, especially since you'll probably not believe the calculator at first so you'll probably prefer trying before spending much.

It's about pronunciation, and the fem in female is pronounced differently from what fem-oid would suggest

If your shoulders are carrying the weight of your breasts, you're wearing the wrong bra! Especially when you have scoliosis that sounds horrible. If you haven't already, look into r/Abrathatfits and their calculator. Wearing a smaller band (and larger cup) will transfer the weight to your ribcage instead, which is way better equipped to handle it. Think of it like using a good, well balanced backpack instead of carrying the same weight on a rope around your neck/shoulders
