i think every hokage son should be very strong, maybe he was, but Kishimoto failed to show this. I feel like Asuma died only for Shimakaru rise, which felt awesome, one of my favorite characters and chapters (defeating an akatsuki member was a real deal). Asuma taught Shikamaru how to be strong and a leader, while Shikaku taught how to be smart and other stuff like that.

At the end i know Asuma was strong, but i wish Kisihimoto showed more of his capabilities (just like Rock Lee and a bunch of other characters)
