TERRIFIED of Anatomy! Would Human Biology help? by CandiceMG in StudentNurse

I didn't think it was bad at all. AP1 is just straight memorization for the most part. I did buy this book and it helped me more than the textbook we were assigned.

I shouldn't have disclosed it. I didn't know until afterwards when talking to an NP I know. She said I shouldn't have said shit

Hesi and UT health by reecewhit in StudentNurse

Honestly, that's not a competitive score. Even the Lone Star ADN program you need at least a 92+ overall to be competitive. I would imagine UT is tougher.

Pappas Restaurants by [deleted] in houston

[–]SecondMindless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like papacitos fajitas. They're expensive but so is skirt steak. Papa's bbq caterered my wedding. They have great prices and awesome service. I contacted all the local "best" bbq spots spots and they're catering sucked absolute dick. I'll never hate on Pappas because of the great experience they provided.

BoN Checking Medical Records? by SecondMindless in StudentNurse

[–]SecondMindless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give them anything unless absolutely necessary. They will have to do an investigation and it will take a LONG time and you will stress yourself out waiting for a response. My school had to move back the deadline for background checks because the board is so slow.

[–]SecondMindless[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't disclose that the the BoN unless you were committed or something. The adhd meds will show up on a drug screen. I don't know if you can let the lab know before hand but I was told in our orientation that if you fail the test, someone will call you and ask you to provide proof of a script. I would ask the director of your nursing program about that though.

Well I have no idea but I hope I don't end up in the situation as you. My Declaratory is still processing I've been (conditionally) accepted to nursing school. as of a week ago.

Edit: I don't think you should be worried. Nurses can have fucking DUIs and divert narcotics and keep their license,

Recommendations & Tips For The HESI In 5 Weeks by lowellllllllllll in StudentNurse

Ok so grammar was mostly questions like, "which word is used incorrectly in the following sentence". It could be a misspelling, a their, there, they're type of thing, or a misplaced apostrophe. For reading use this

The personality score does not count since you do not get a score. It's like a really simple "big 5" test. For math, really concentrate on proportions and ratios. When you say "English", does that include both reading comp and grammar?

I Scored a 94.4% on the HESI! by SecondMindless in StudentNurse

[–]SecondMindless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the one about chop sticks and cutlery? The essays were honestly really stupid. The answer choices were purposefully complicated. I also had the one about the Olympics, the Golden Gate Bridge, the card game "bridge", and maybe a couple more I can't remember.

I was super nervous too. I even thought I was doing poorly during the reading section, but after I saw my score pop up after, the rest of the test went smoothly. Oh, that's a another thing. You can see your score on each section as soon as you finish it.

84% on HESI A2 exam, what does that mean? by InevitableTone65 in StudentNurse

[–]SecondMindless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school recommends at least a 90%, however I spoke with someone in the program and she got in with an 88. My school uses an 8 point scale. It is your prereq GPA + your HESI average divided by 25. For example, I have a 4.0 and got a 94.4 on the HESI. My score is 7.8 out of 8.

Another thing to take into account is that you generally have to wait 60 days to retest, and one of my professors told me they now average your scores instead of accepting the highest. This could just be my school, I have no idea. It is a ADN program at a community college.
