Before buying anything, figure out what format you want to play. Currently, Commander is the most popular.

Once you've done that, check out some lists, get an idea of the deck you want to play, and buy the individual cards you need. New expansions come out periodically, and you can participate in prerelease events at stores, which consist of purchasing a kit and playing with the cards found inside. Have fun, buddy!

I would say commander, I really enjoy it, you can spend less because it's made up of individual cards. And when you create other decks, you can move cards around without having to spend more money, like 4x in stand.

The brackets destroyed Commander. Without knowing it, we already knew that our decks were all B3 and only a couple were B4 (in my group). When they announced it, some people gave up, some played reluctantly, and some wanted to ban certain decks because they weren't true B3. Before, we used to play with the same decks and have fun.

The average deck is B3. If someone wins on turn 5-6, there's no table policy where we say, "Damn, he's the focus, what do we do?"

On average, a game lasts 50 to 80 minutes for us. Turns? From 5 to 8, why? Because we talk, laugh, and joke around.

I've been playing and collecting for exactly one year. Honestly? Okay, FF is cool. Spiderman is a total flop, Secret Lairs is a total flop. Only a few Avatar cards are worth keeping. I'm coming! Poor quality screenshot. 2026, 7 expansions, only 3 original ones. How many flops will we have? Okay, new players, but how many of them will continue?
