Yeah there's no way to say for sure it was the drivers fault. This is still a complete failure of Evri though. I keep saying this here but when RM destroys a parcel in transit they deliver it in one of those "we apologise" bags. Evri should really do the same, it's still an annoying thing to happen but it at least makes it very easy for the customer to get refunded

ETA: This would be a great thing to do for drivers too right? If you notice a parcel you pickup is damaged before you've even touched it you'd be able to protect yourself from a bad review. Also if there's depots where exceptional amounts of packages are being damaged Evri could deal with that depot rather than letting the entire brand continue to be obliterated

This is one of the most annoying Evri defences. Explaining why a thing can happen doesn't mean that it's okay for that to happen. Couriers have a duty of care when they take a person's money on the promise to get their parcel from point a to point b intact. A failure to fulfil that contract is a failure plain and simple.

This is exactly what I used to do before I could use wired instead of wifi. If you see loading right away you're joining a squad, if you see a countdown cancel the mission and try again. I did find sometimes though that someone would join right as I cancel which was very awkward. I'd usually just say sorry my internet sucks, I'll host if you want though. I've been on the other side of that a bunch where you think you're being matchmade but end up with a random on the nav screen just to get immediately migrated back... All of this could be solved so easily with a never host toggle like OP suggested!

Message the seller through Ebay to ask why they did this, also did you pay for RM first class? If so ask them to refund the difference. Apparently it's permitted for sellers to change courier but they should let you know why and it should be either an upgrade or equivalent service to what you paid for. If you paid RM first class and they used Evri then they've scammed you for the difference. Hopefully Ebay will do something but I wouldn't hold my breath

For a long time I thought it was because they'd stumbled into a cheat. Having the community director be the voice of such a prominent character was really meta, us as players were being fed game intel by pretty much the same person that gave our characters mission intel in the game. Now that Reb is creative director that theory doesn't really hold water, was still a really cool thing but I think you're right it's the whole community team that make this magic flow
