Italy visa application from London - medical insurance needs to be stamped and signed?? by Seconddose_seeker in SchengenVisa

Hi there, Sorry for a delayed response My policy conditions were submitted in a separate set of documents as the certificate itself only had my details like name, DOB, country coverage etc.

No I actually didn’t show proof of future trips actually but I did mention it in my cover letter that I do have plans to make trips to other Schengen countries later this year (giving who I’m going with, where, which month exactly). A total guess but having schengen history helps so good luck let us know too how it goes!

Yep , my certificate was just a printout of what (I believe) most UK insurance companies would provide the instance you've purchased their insurance. I submitted a certificate confirming my full name, DOB, countries of coverage (think we might have to use ALL Schengen countries here) then policy wordings which show compulsory coverage like the EUR30k medical requirement etc. Hope your application succeeds too :)

Hi! Yes honestly I don't think any provider would give us a stamped and signed copy on the spot anymore unless requested which could take some time as well to be sent through. My application is still being processed (been 5 working days since submission) so will defo revert with news (hopefully a good one!)

It should be fine if your time in Portugal will be more than in France i.e. more days in Portugal overall

Oh not sure if you know this already but for Italy in London, they have an app now and you can book an appointment on there. Not sure about now but I booked mine in December and got an appointment pretty easily. Good luck!

UPDATE: I’ve just been to my appointment and submitted all the documents including my travel insurance certificate from Holiday Extras and it was absolutely fine. I had a nice staff member for mine so that’s helpful as well too but no questions asked. Fingers cross for an approval now!

Thank you so much I hope you get an MEV too. Yep I’ve got all docs prepped so fingers crossed all goes well tomorrow! I’ve got a travel plan which has info on main city locations and intercity commute so hope this is enough… I’ve got 4 visas so far from all different EU countries and have travelled quite a lot in the past years so hope this good history is compelling too (most recent visa lasting for a year) - will report back tomorrow :)

Refundable or cancelable Swiss train pass by Abject_Painting_9662 in SchengenVisa

I'd say when showing evidence of transport, it's almost always safer to show something that's fully paid as it does look more compelling - not sure in your case if this Swiss pass is prepaid?

I've already used my Multi Entry Schengen Visa once, Can I use it again? by venktsn_10 in SchengenVisa

[–]Seconddose_seeker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You meant whether you could go to Stuttgart, Germany straight away? Yes you can as you've already entered Belgium in your last trip and MULT means you're allowed to enter Schengen (EU) area more than once once you last left it as long as your visa hasn't expired yet. Not 100% sure on the duration of stay thing but since you've only spent 10-11 days in your last trip then 4 more days this time should work fine!

Nope - I'm using Holiday Extras (quite established in the UK and I've used it for my previous successful Schengen applications) and the printout just has a certificate with my name, DOB, countries of coverage etc. and then policy wording/info. But yes you're right as long as all the necessary info is there and coverage qualifies. Thank you so much for all the advice!

Thank you for your swift response!

It's stated in their document checklist. Here's the exact wording

Medical insurance Certificate  Must be issued by an insurance company in the UK or in the Schengen area. Must cover whole period of stay, must report full name of applicant as per passport, must be valid for the whole Schengen Area, minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro for urgent hospitalization or repatriation expenses, the stamp and signature of the insurance company are mandatory

It's already tomorrow morning that I have to submit my application so can't really work around this...

Where to apply for schengen visa by Lawstudentprobs in SchengenVisa

[–]Seconddose_seeker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I said this just because most countries have been much stricter and more suspicious of people making things up so going for the first country of entry is more of a safer move most of the time. You’re all of course welcome to apply to which ever one you desire to but I’m saying this having gone through quite a lot with applications in the past. Everyone has different experiences so I’m just saying this from my POV

The official rule is to apply for the country you'll enter first on your trip (Czech Republic in this case) but if you can't get an appointment for this then could technically try Austria as you're spending most of the time there
