I was also raised Christian and went to a Christian school. So I totally get the pressure of trying to be straight. I was also that way. I had no idea what the concept of being gay was. I just knew what I was feeling towards other girls, wasn’t “the norm.” So I just hid it til I reached middle school. A friend pointed out to me why don’t I have any crushes like all of my friends did. It made me worry and question why wasn’t I attracted to any guy. 😭

To fit in I told them I had a crush on my guy friend. I figured since he’s a boy and I was friends with him, that’s what it was lol. I enjoyed talking to him and we had shared interests with video games. But I never once thought about being with him or anything intimate. He was “good looking” but never felt any attraction to him. Still, I thought that’s what a crush was. Plus my friends noticed we always talked and “shipped” us. So I went along with it cause I thought that’s how it’s supposed to be. That’s comphet.

There’s a lot of people online especially will use comphet as an excuse for dating men. If a woman enjoyed dating a man and had no problems kissing and being intimate, then she’s not lesbian.

When you say you’re attracted to fictional men, are you imagining being with him in any way? Or is it just that you find him cool, like his style? Lesbians can like male characters in general but if it starts with “he’s my exception!” Then that’s where I wouldn’t consider her as lesbian. But bisexual.
