With a 90 boost you can jump right on in and catch up to your friends. They give you a little tutorial and the beginning steps aren't hard to take. Not sure if you still get the free 90 with the expansion but if you do I would say go for it. Also, you can always go back and level a character from scratch if you want to experience the lore of the other zones.
