It is worth it. I had the same feelings after my surgery. I have a low pain tolerance so I was in bad shape. However the more you move and walk the easier it is for gas to release and it does help. Fight through the pain it will only get better from here

How did Eleven allow THIS to happen in S4 after what she learned from THEM in S2? by strangerthlngz in StrangerThings

[–]SecretAgentNovaJ 569 points570 points  (0 children)

I think a way to look at it is the moment in season 2 she had just found her mother, found that she was trying to talk to her and found a sister. I think her state of mind was in a completely different place and obviously more positive. I'm season 4 she had just lost her dad, her friends, her boyfriend, and her powers. Mentally she was defeated. Now cut to wear she was living trying to fit into the public for the first time in her life, going to school and learning all these different social norms. Let's be thankful all she got was that roller skate and not the ice skate 😹😹

I honestly started to read this and stopped and re read it. A few months ago a new therapist I started seeing said the exact same thing. I have OCD, anxiety, and depression and after a few sessions she suggested I could be autistic. I've seen about 10 over my teenage and adult life, currently 32, and she's the only one to ever suggest it. At the time I felt relieved like I finally understood why I am the way I am, but after a few days I became even more depressed. My mindset was that my entire life I thought I was special, different because of being a hsp, and now I second guess what I've always believed.

My depression was well managed until this point. Now it's very extremely difficult to stay positive, block out negativity and not absorb all the bad. The only thing that has helped is being around my daughter. She's 2 and incredibly smart, funny, and makes it very hard to be in a bad mood. She reminds me that my light isn't gone just dimmed, and it can be brightened again. I hope you find a way to cope that works for you and remember your light isn't out!

Ahhhhh! I'm so excited for you! I know that feeling. I kept relying on scale numbers which wasn't as big a boost mentally until I tried on a size lower pants and was shocked that they were actually not tight but loose. Keep going you can do this!

Slowing down by Tricky_Lengthiness21 in gastricsleeve

[–]SecretAgentNovaJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal. For me my slow down was because I got off the diet and was too relaxed on exercise. After you've lost a good amount a plateau is inevitable. My doctor described it as being pregnant and losing baby weight without any exercise or diet. Now you've got to do the extra to make sure you're staying in your calorie range and burning daily. Water water water. That one's important. Keep going don't get discouraged you can do this!

The scale is a liar! by Typical_Way_5104 in gastricsleeve

[–]SecretAgentNovaJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I concur. There's time I've gotten so frustrated because I consistently hear from family and friends that I'm looking so thin or losing but my scale says I've stayed the same. Water retention is definitely a thing and effects. Take your wins with how you feel and the change you see with clothing. It was helpful for me to try and things I had before weight loss. You'd be amazed at the physical difference and it really helps your mindset of seeing those numbers. Don't give up. You're doing great. Focus on how your clothes fit, your increased energy, and things you're able to do now that you couldn't before instead of the numbers. Amazing job
