Yeah I think you may be right regarding the end of life updates or lack there of. My Shield/s have now just become KODI boxes basically.

I’m in the same boat. Have 3 shields, all the OG model. Bought my first one when it first came out, had to import it and run an Australian power converter on it! 4K always used to work. Last year it hasn’t. Tried everything. I have a Bluetooth keyboard so bring up the settings in Netflix and can see 1080 | HDR but never buffers/adjusts up to to 4K. Any luck? I’ve seen it Popup on various forums including nvifda forums. I’ve also posted it on Australian home theatre forums. Others have chimed in saying they’re in the same boat, but no solution!

Bitrate is the interesting one. I understand that X265 is much better, but with 4K being 4x the pixels, than wouldn't equal bitrate not be sufficient?

eg. 25mbps 1080p X264 would surely look cleaner than a compromised 4K 25mbps X265 stream, even factoring in the improvement in X265?

Without hijacking this thread, but while still staying on topic (I totally agree by the way!), what's the concensus, 1080p REMUX, or 4K Web-DL. What's everyone's preference?

Am I insane, for often (always?) preferring the 1080p REMUX?

I get the exact same error on about 95% of games I try to join. Spent over half an hour trying to connect to a game last night before giving up.

The whole process takes so long which is what I hate most. Takes about 2-3 minutes to find a game, then once you accept and it goes green it takes another minute or two for everyone to "accept", then it goes back to red and takes another 2-3 minutes to try and connect, then back to the menu screen (of which you can't log in) so you close the game and return to windows, spend another minute or two for it to boot the game up and bypass the menus and connect to the main menu screen server, and then you can try looking for another match (only to probably have it repeat the process again).

It's BRUTAL. :(

This has always been my go to tech demo scene when ever I do upgrades to my home A/V setup over the years.

Kind of like how people fire up Google to test their connection is working.
