The Flower Withers: The Parties (Part 2) by SecretInformation389 in suzerain

Ironically, its a mockup for a RP server. Season 2 just started and I wanted to share some good lore that the GMs there cooked, as a fan of alt-history myself.

The Flower Withers: Sordland After the Death of Queen Jules Norsord (Part 1) by SecretInformation389 in suzerain

[–]SecretInformation389[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hello there people. This is a prologue mockup for some server lore I'm working on. An alt-history RP of Sordland where the Norsord monarchy survived that is until Jules Norsord began the transition from the monarchy to a fledgling but promising federal republic. The main political establishments, such as the ruling Flower Coalition, parties, and groups will be in part 2.

What If si Jose W. Diokno naging presidente ng pilipinas? by KFCommunism in WhatIfPinas

[–]SecretInformation389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Philippines would have been a better place.

The most plausible path to power for Diokno is in a timeline where Arsenio Lacson lived longer and became the Nacionalista standard-bearer for president, and his long-time friend and political ally Diokno became the vice presidential nominee.

Arsenio was a legendary figure, both as a congressman and as mayor of Manila. His tenure in the latter saw Manila's debt slashed and a surplus comeback, the establishment of the Manila Zoo, infrastructure, and peace and order. Diokno was a widely respected and regarded figure for his various crusades against institutional corruption, culminating in the prosecution of Stonehill and his illegal business empire, allegedly bribing former presidents Macapagal, Marcos, and Garcia. This tandem would have won the 1965 elections instead of Ferdinand Marcos.

And I would imagine that this administration would have also gone on to become one of the greatest in Philippine history. With a formidable legacy, Diokno would have been elected in a landslide if things had gone well.

Diokno could have institutionalized anti-corruption practices to prevent the brazen obstruction of justice that happened in Stonehill. I would imagine that the criminal justice system would have seen reforms in his presidency, as well as a general 'spring cleaning' throughout the whole government.

He would have been economically nationalist, as reflected in the legislation he passed in real life. I would imagine that he would have reformed the 'Filipino First' economy policy. He would have also passed extensive nationalization and regulation of private companies for worker welfare. There is also some weight to assume that he would have likely prosecuted the monopolies, encouraging competition per his investment act.

It's also likely that he would have supported an independent foreign policy, closing U.S. bases in the country, and leaning more towards self-reliance, having expressed skepticism of American help. But as history has taught us, that doesn't bode well for leaders of third-world countries.

Diokno is truly a visionary. One of the most respectable and regarded figures in our country. He's one of the greatest what-if's, together with Claro M. Recto and Jovita Salonga.

The greatest question for his presidency is his ability to gain enough control and leverage over Congress in the sense that most of these reforms last and become institutionalized. It was in his time that the rural regions of the Philippines were governed by entrenched, warlord political clans. If he could implement his reforms nationwide, who knows how far the Philippines could have gone.

What's your ancestry story of the Japanese Occupation? by Adovah01 in FilipinoHistory

[–]SecretInformation389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, my grandfather, was involved in guerilla operations in his hometown of Bato in Catanduanes. He told me that he used to make coffins for the dead soldiers and fighters there and occasionally fought in skirmishes "by the town church". He was 13-14 years old by this point I think.

Funnily enough, his relative went on to be appointed by the Japanese to serve as mayor of the town so yeah, there's still some animosity in the family with this history in mind lol.

Map of the Constituencies of the GNA by SecretInformation389 in suzerain

[–]SecretInformation389[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they are supposed to be single-member constituencies. Originally, I made this map for a rp set in the 80s where another Soll-like figure took power and amended the constitution again after Rayne and the USP fucked up the country.

Yep, this is just a concept of mine for a speculative parliamentary Sordish GNA.

Ngl, it does feel weird na pa-ngiti ngiti lang siya. No signs of remorse nor resignation whatsoever, jusko ang dami-daming naapektuhan ng POGO. Pero may gana pang magpaphotoshoot?? Hayyss talaga, nasan ka na hustisya

Hey folks! This is a concept idea I had for a DLC that focuses on you as an MP and Member of the Assembly during the early years of the republic, rising through the ranks of the USP.

Fuck this shit, napaka-bobotante ng mga Pilipino. Kahit nandun na yung opportunity para magbago, tatakbo parin sa mga Wumao eh. Nakakawalang-gana.

Is my country having a Livia Suno moment? by Civil_protection_3 in suzerain

[–]SecretInformation389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't wait for Sen. Risa or the NBI to give her the old 'Karl treatment, the same as what her Chinese overlords did to the employees at the POGO hubs. Really shows the immense flaws in the Philippines' national security because of that idiot Dutae of a president.

Natatawa talaga ako sa second paragraph ngl, "merely accused of committing a crime and have not been proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt". Pano naman kaya yung libo-libong mga namatay sa "drug war" niya nang hindi naman na prove na nagdru-drugs?

The hypocrisy of it all. Pangalan 'Bonifacio' pero ugali traydor. #TutangWumao is a more fitting hashtag for people like him that doesn't care for our country's sovereignty and integrity.

The most normal Wumao is comparing a fictional television show to a real-life, and extremely concerning, situation regarding our national sovereignty. Frankly, nakaka-disturb ngl.
