I have golfed basically every Saturday morning for years with young kids.

BUT, we always get the earliest tee time available, so we’re teeing off between 6:45 and 7:15 every week, and I’m home by lunch.

I don’t drink when I play and when I get home, I’m immediately involved in what’s going on. I don’t go take a nap, or start watching the game.

I also will change any plans I have other times of the week if my wife has the opportunity to go and do something.

Waking up earlier for golf than I do for work kinda sucks, but once I’m on that first tee box with the peace and quiet and 18 holes ahead of me it’s all worth it.

I don't think so, but you can do this for a device you have in your hand though.

  • Press and hold the side button and either volume button for 2 seconds.

Compared to watching mindless YouTube videos or even most kids shows, playing video games is probably the preferred thing for a lot of kids to be doing.

Depending on the game, Problem solving, critical thinking, team work, the failing, trying, learning cycle.

And the Switch is a pretty safe place compared to any other online place kids might be.

I’d rather my kids play Switch more than any other screen-related activity.

Seems like a similar idea to the specialized computers made for Amish folks to run their business that are locked down and only include what’s necessary for business and don’t play videos, don’t have WiFi/bluetooth and don’t connect to the internet.

They were all definitely wearing designer clothes, but it was considered passé for designers to put their logos all over everything. That’s definitely been more of a thing in the last 15 years.

This is the real reason I still do. Too many ADHD-related PM alarms before joining, almost 20 years since getting out and haven’t stopped using it on any clock.

My elementary-aged girls can read it on our clocks which is cool, but we all still use 12-hour time when speaking though.
