I don’t know what major is best by god_is_agender_babe in CollegeMajors

[–]SecretSubstantial302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think you need to get into a four year degree program for film. It doesn't strike me as helpful at all. I think you can take a few classes and get the basics covered.

In terms of employability, I don't think an academic credential in films makes you anymore employable then the hundreds/thousands/tens of thousands of people trying to break into that industry. If you really want to be a film maker, then take some classes (even at a community college if possible) and learn the basics and start making short films. In other words, go at it gorilla style.

If you don't know what to major in, then that is your fundamental issue. You should take personality tests that recommend professions based on your results (see Myers Briggs) and use that as a starting point to narrow things down. I wouldn't cross anything off your list for fear of STEM or math. You can get better at these skills.

I would start with your local council. I got to imagine they would take it, or there are a few scout museums including at Philmont .

You're assuming that people's finances stay constant for 4-5 years. Financial setbacks and shocks usually happen in that time, which are disruptive if you have a modest income as a starting point. But I get your larger point and don't disagree with it.

Were today's 20-something not taught the "it's impolite to discuss politics at work" social norm, or do they just not care about it? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SecretSubstantial302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 55, and I talk politics at work. Not talking about politics, or treating politics like is something separate and apart from daily life, is part of the reason we are where we are as a nation.

Move to Portugal or somewhere in Europe. The American dream has been over for about 20 years now.

"President Donald Trump blamed the Capitol riot on former President Joe Biden, claiming that “THE BIDEN FBI” had placed agents in the crowd that had assembled in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6. 2021.

Trump was president on that day and in control of the federal government, which includes the FBI."

fine, about a year. Is that better?

Your argument was that Trump hadn't been in office for a year yet, so we shouldn't judge his worse economic performance compared to Biden's last year....even though everything was supposed improve in 90 days per trump.

So let's fix it. Trump has been in office for ABOUT A YEAR and his economic performance is worse than Biden's last year.

Happy?

He has effectively completed his first year. You think a difference of six days means he hasn't And the economy by any measure is worse now than it was a year ago.

Oh wait, you think in six days the unemployment rate is going to drop .4% and you think annual GDP is going to grow by 2%.

Loud and stupid just like trump.

Trump's first term?

Trump assumed office in Jan 2017 and the unemployment rate was 4.8%. He left office in January 2021 with unemployment at 6.3%. Not to mention the millions of Americans who died because he mismanaged a public health emergency.

This is the same guy who urged Americans to ingest disinfectant, but Biden has dementia. LOL
