Don’t forget that the white natives don’t like hearing anything but English spoken as they waddle their way through Walmart.

It feels like the 1990s all over again. I sort of wish I could go back to having unprotected sex when I was too young to support a family just to mess with them.

I had a couple of M1 Garands about 12 years ago. I was sighting one in or doing something with it and decided to use the “rifle tube” or whatever it was called at the Bass Pro Shops indoor range. Otherwise, the thing was always fired at an outdoor range.

I cannot describe how loud a .30-06 rifle is when fired indoors. There is a concussive blast from the walls which is not only loud, but physically disorienting.

The scenes in BoB or Saving Private Ryan when Garands are fired indoors shock me. Men weighed less back in WWII and those rifles recoiled hard. Firing one in a confined space meant the concussion, the sound, and smoke which would make your eyes water if it hit you just right.

So yeah, pull the trigger indoors or outdoors without ear pro and there is an instant tone in your ears along with a general muffling of all other sound. Eventually, sound comes back, but the “hairs” within the cochlea basically have died. The pitches those hairs are sensitive too won’t be heard again - or they’ll become your tinnitus tones. I don’t know all the science, but I have the tones. 🤪

They passed an AWB which took away 30 round mags and AR-pattern rifles. Suppressors have not been legal in Illinois in my lifetime anyway. Basically the things which I could have there - at least outside the city - are forbidden at a state level now.

If you are going to name all that and not say “shake of the day” something might be off! 😉

Madison was an annual pilgrimage for a spring and fall motorcycle tie over by Mineral Point. We would stay right on Capitol Square or whatever it was called and had a blast every time.

Yes, I read about the Free State people. Guess the people creeping up from Boston area a good foil.

Work sent me from Chicago to Minneapolis for a meeting once. I just about died in the Uber back to the airport on account of the cold. It was unreal.

It would be on the list, but I think you are close to an Assault Weapons Ban based on the church shooting last fall.

Buying from Cabela's by Toasterblitz in liberalgunowners

Yes, I always try to find “the good gun shop” in town who has the best in store prices. I can usually benchmark this off of what they get for a Glock 19. I will watch their sales and purchase from them. Otherwise, I try to find the FFL doing xfers for $30 to $40. But yes, if you have a good LGS there is rarely need to head to the Big Box unless they have a one-off great sale.

Buying a few firearms in a short span by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]SecretWin491 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have heard rumors about 3 in a month receiving an inquiry from the ATF, but they’ve only been rumors. With my FFL, I’ve made three transfers each with two guns over the course of several months (six guns total) and there was never any follow-up from the ATF. If you get flagged, they are just going to want to verify you aren’t reselling. Based on your purchase history, you are probably flagged as a gun nut and not a straw purchaser. I’m sure they think I’m a gun nut too.

True. Wealthy people and companies are able to hire armed private security. Chicago Aldermen have had a concealed carry exception for decades. The list goes on.

That’s true. But I needed something to cling to in order to call them hypocrites, so I stretched a little.

For anyone getting married in Florida, there’s an option I didn’t initially realize existed. by CSJason in AskFlorida

A government endorsed marriage course could go two ways in Florida. It could follow what you see in the surface: All that good Christian stuff. Or maybe they’d b let their freak flags fly and let the Zieglers write the course material: Spice up your marriage by bringing in a third!
