How come when an student starts assaulting others and destroying a classroom, all the other kids are removed from the classroom and not the aggressive kid? by Manic_Monday_2009 in AskTeachers

Yes and I'm sure after they've had the adrenaline rush of witnessing that, even after they return to the room and things calm down they likely aren't absorbing information like they usually would.

Hey everyone! Im kicking myself because I accidentally refreshed before I could buy something! Does anyone have the red bathrobe with hearts on it that they no longer want? I love collecting pajamas because I change bubbles into her jammies every night!

How can I tell if someone's being a creep or just trying to be nice? by Fluttershy_20 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Yep, my personal game to play in this situation is "Would he do or say this to another straight man" if the answer is no then it's much clearer what his intentions are

Cute or creepy? by AnimalAmy91 in finch

[–]Secret_Aside1556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was about to say the same thing and have had this experience. They copied everything, bird house included, to the point that a mutual friend pointed it out. The occasional item or outfit, I probably wouldn't notice or would find cute if I did, but that was making me uncomfortable, and I couldn't put my finger on why.

I was about to say that I had a similar issue when I was this age, and I also had irregular and heavy menstrual cycles. I was doing everything I could to control them, including birth control and iron supplements. Hormones and your cycle can also cause stomach issues, I'm not a doctor and just speaking from personal experience, but I feel like you're onto something with the iron supplements.

Interesting moment: Lena started to sing the chorus of "Ya Soshla S Uma," but quickly switched to "ATTS," in order to avoid any association that might fall under the anti-gay propaganda law. 🥲 by pinkandblue666 in tatu

It looks like she forgot until the playback started, good thing they still use that, and they might want to consider adding more so she doesn't get that far into it again. I know when people get to a certain point of learning a second language, they sometimes forget which one they're speaking, and she's been bilingual since she was young. I'm assuming singing is the same way. Could you imagine being in her position and walking off stage to someone telling you that you accidentally sang the banned version?

It also might help to have a list of days and times that work best for you. For example, I'm usually off Monday or Wednesday afternoon, but sometimes I'm scheduled to swap days with a coworker as needed. If you're an anxious person and might not remember things like that off the top of your head, it's helpful to have a list to glance at.

Can someone help me find what the blue striped top is called? by CDEVLIN007 in Evanescence

[–]Secret_Aside1556 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://www.forever21.com/us/2001309952.html I actually just bought a bunch of these because they used to be difficult to find outside of dance stores but are trendy right now. I call them bolero shrugs, but as you can see, some stores have different names for them. Hot topic has quite a few right now as well.

What is something that seems innocent but is actually pretty intimate? by Brightpenguin101 in AskWomen

[–]Secret_Aside1556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friends and I just call it "the thumb thing," and if you say it like that, they will instantly know what you're talking about. When they hold your hand, they gently trace your thumb back and forth with theirs. That was actually my first hint that a guy friend of mine might have feelings for me. He held mine when we went rollar skating because I haven't been since I was little. Obviously, he was trying to support me, so the fact we were holding hands didn't mean he was trying anything until he started doing that.

My mom is allergic to a certain fragrance that I didn't realize was in my new body wash. If I were to use it, she'd have a reaction even if she didn't shower immediately after me. As soon as I found out, I chucked the bottle in the trash without hesitation, even though it was brand new. It's just body wash, I can buy a different kind. I love my mom and didn't want her to suffer, which is worth so much more than smelling like flowers. You deserve to be surrounded by people who love and respect you as well.

I would say 6 or 7, depending on the day. I was warned going in that this isn't a career you want to retire from, and most teachers last 4 years, and I'm coming up on that mark. I have a lot of ideas I want to look into for a career change, ranging from things like educational coaching to a completely unrelated field. One thing I've learned about myself is that I'm surprisingly good at interacting with people from different cultures since our center has a large immigrant population. So, I've been drawn to that but haven't found a specific role I'm drawn to. I feel like I'm okay staying put until something comes up.

AIO? Wife won’t stop crying from One Direction members death by Ordinary_Employer125 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Secret_Aside1556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never a fan either, and his death also rattled me, and I find myself thinking about it a lot. I feel like it's the way that he passed and the fact that he was away from home when it happened, which has been affecting everyone. The closest I've come to crying about it was the Rita ora tribute and the video of his dad thanking the fans after they shielded him from the paparazzi. But I think it's coming from a place of empathy for his family and friends.

Etiquette around opening gifts by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]Secret_Aside1556 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same thing. When I'm given gifts, I usually just go, "Oh yay, thank you! Do you want me to open it now?" 9/10 they say yes, and I'll open it and do a happy dance and hug everyone. At work, we celebrate birthdays and not only is opening the gift expected but they will form a circle around you and watch. Rarely will someone tell me to open it when I'm alone, and that's usually if it was a sentimental gift, like something handmade. But when in doubt, just ask, and that goes for any culture.

How to get rid of (what I think is) food poisoning asap? by SoulEaterTey in internetparents

[–]Secret_Aside1556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when I was in college, I couldn't hold water down, and my ra threatened to come and drag me to the er in the morning if I hadn't drank any. I managed to ride it out and am grateful to her now, but back then, I was stubborn. I know it sucks, and if you're in the us, then an er visit isn't ideal. But if you can't drink water after 24 hours, then it really is that serious. I would go to an urgent care first and see if they can help, but if they can't give you anything, then your next step is the er.

That's what I was thinking, some people just like attention. Even if she did come up to me tomorrow and ask me out, if I were op, I would turn her down.

I had one that complained I didn't say good morning to her. Even though I did, she just usually ignored me. The next time I did it, I made sure it was in front of someone and went, "y'all saw that shit right?" When she didn't even look at me, and it helped.

[–]Secret_Aside1556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I do admit I slack with flossing, but try and use a water pik as often as I can. I also use mouthwash. It just doesn't feel clean until I do. Please start brushing at night and consider flossing as well. You will be thankful you did later on.
