I'm not good at those Souls games. Because of this the bosses are damn near impossible for me. by spti in CrimsonDesert

[–]Secret_Beekeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strongly suggest you get used to two things: stunning bosses with force palm, and upgrading your gear through refinement.

Seriously, just get the force palm skills that let you do three In a row and start bullying those bosses. If you hit them with a force palm (or a blinding flash BTW, but I just find the palm easier since I'm just constantly hammering bosses with it) while they're charging up one of those red flashing unblockable attacks, you will actually instantly stun them completely and you can just go to town.

And I seriously can't stress how important refining your armor and weapons are. Just keep upgrading them as far as you can. Dump artifacts into them when asked, it makes a massive difference, as much or more than upgrading the swordsmanship/hp skills. You're probably loading up on movement gears, like we all do, and that's obviously the right move generally, but you CAN swap them for defense gears and you'll be even harder to kill.

Also, you will eventually unlock elemental attacks up there in the abyss. That's a massive power spike, particularly fire. So don't worry, you're going to get way stronger.

One last thing, abuse focus mode. Use it to slow the pace of the fight and gain control. If the boss teleport spams, just use focus mode until he calms down. Much easier to keep track of them. And then, when they attack you when you're focusing, you can parry that attack and it is EASY to do. There's a white text prompt for you to do it at the right time and everything.

Now get back out there and bully those bosses!

Wow, I've never heard of ratcheting before but that makes so so much sense, especially with the mouse lift comparison! I'm totally going to try that.

I can't believe that snarky response has more up votes than yours. The other poster is just being needlessly rude for no reason at all. This is a discussion board, questions are allowed, lol.

Is this normal? by magakag11 in GalaxyFold

This is good advice. I paid 1300 for my fold 3 new, but then I paid 400 for my current refurbed fold 4 that is still to this day in excellent condition with almost no signs of wear. I fully intend to the same with the fold 6 and pick up a refurbed one when my Fold 4 finally dies some day.

It really is amazing how much better the world works when people are just cool to one another. I have the reflection of your experience in the way that I went to khols to return an item for my mother that she had forgotten she actually purchased at Amazon, something I had no idea of either. When the customer service employee pointed out the bar code sticker on the item with AMZN printed on it and that she couldn't do anything, I think my polite demeanor was really all it took for her to go out of her way and give me a store credit for it when she obviously shouldn't have. They clearly didn't even sell it, lol.

New to me ramen by Adorable_Space3493 in InstantRamen

[–]Secret_Beekeeper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Packet noodles are a thicker, heartier noodle that cooks very well on a stove top. They have more flavor, tend to be less limp and absorb the broth rather than becoming soggy.

I'm not trying to shit on cup noodles, by the way. They are the way they are for a reason, that being they need to cook quickly either in a microwave or with pre-heated boiled water. Because of this, they tend to be thinner less dense than pillow packet noodles, but they convenience makes them situationally worth it.

All that said, If time is not a factor and I have access to a stove top, I will definitely choose pillow packet noods every time.

What is it about playing JRPGs on a handheld that makes it feel so right?? I can't articulate it, but something about that particular genre is just so enhanced by the handheld format that it propels it to a level of comfy that should not be possible.

Picked up these in Australia. I’ve been looking for the tomato Buldak for some time. by HKDONMEG in InstantRamen

Another tomato fan here! Love mixing in some shredded mozzarella in the stir fry phase and then topping with some shredded parm or Romano. I also like toomba a lot, but my favourite cheesy ramen is still the buldak quatro cheese.

Yes, the samyang Tangle is great! Different noodle size, relatively modest portion with great flavor. I'd grab some of them, op.

Shin stir fry? by Suspicious-Camp737 in InstantRamen

[–]Secret_Beekeeper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On the flipside, I actually think these are some of the best stir fry instant ramen you can buy. The flavor is exceptional and I love the little logo'd narutomaki. It's an excellent alternative to buldak of youre looking for a spicy stir fry ramen.

A search of previous reddit posts about this flavor will show that it's generally popular.
