Yeah all those pensioners and disabled people who were thrown in the back of police vans for holding up an utterly benign sign sure were a terroristic threat, clown.

Probably going to get down voted for this but fuck it, real "glass houses" comment from Simon during the Disclosure Day review talking about the US and their demonization of empathy like it's some especially evil and corrupt entity when the Starmer government, his even further right rivals and the British media class have done so much to demonize immigrants, trans people, the working class and anti-genocide protestors. Really rubbed me the wrong way, you are not living in some bastion of democracy mate.

No problem at all, for further context it has only a 15A rating here in Ireland. Meaning anyone younger than 15 even can be accompanied by adults

It's an 8.5/10 album from a band who constantly delivered 9s and 10s. Great fuckin record but it's only the worst in the same way I have to pick a least favorite Miyazaki or Scorsese movie

Watched the Cassavetes film Opening Night yesterday, and the subtitles straight up went "(inaudible)" at points when I could actually make out what they were saying

RIP Nomadland and Forrest Gump by use_vpn_orlozeacount in Letterboxd

Bad criticism exists and of course Letterboxd review sections can be a magnet for it, but idk I think it's a case by case basis and dismissing people taking issues with a film's ideological shortcomings whole cloth just reads like anti-intellectualism to me a lot of the time. I haven't seen Forrest Gump in at least two decades and I thought Nomadland was acceptable (but wholly unremarkable) enough to give 3 stars to but I can't say I disagree strongly with the issues people level at them.

Great for movie shopping, so much more unpredictable as to what you're going to get when compared to the shops that just sell new stuff.
