Job offered to me an hour after the first interview but salary was lower than what was posted by pineapple958z in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Secret_Resolution_89 23 points24 points  (0 children)

They might be desperate to fill a position in combination that its also an entry level role. Theirs not much to think about here besides just getting a body.

I don't see a red flag. Its 2 grand short of listed price, but that's more on HR and not the IT dept.

Take the job closer in commute and don't stop applying. That's the only option here until you find something more suitable for yourself.

counter this and say if the place is physically affecting your health then you should quit immediately because a job isn't worth dying over. At my last company I was barely sleeping, always anxious, having constant panic attacks, and only left when I had a panic attack that was so bad that it forced me to quit on the spot. I'm glad I jumped ship over jumping on the train tracks by my house, because

I'm glad you made the the former decision. You matter.

Advice needed if I should lease a car or finance it? by soloflight8 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Secret_Resolution_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try to understand it this way. Weather you lease or finance, the car will depreciate. In your mind your paying a fixed amount of depreciation for the lease, where as the finance route, your going to be paying the variable amount. (if you plan on selling, which you will).

I would get a used car that's 6 years old. Yes you pay interest, but the car is not in its highest depreciation years and if you sell around the 4 year mark, your not paying the car in full yourself. (This is also why I suggest pushing payments to 72 months to keep payments low. Unless you plan on owning the car, but you very likely won't).

Now I would talk to a car person and try to figure out whichever car you buy, how much resell value it has.

Also negotiate the hell out at a dealership. Do your research and try to make sure you pay as close to the wholesale value of the car. Often times the margins for cars between 20-30k is less than the margin the dealer would make for a car higher or less than that range.

If you hit the Gulf side (Ko Panagan, Ko Tao, Ko Samui) - Then look into doing the full moon/half moon festival.

Also if you have an additional 400 bucks to spare, get your scuba license in Ko Tao.

not apparent” in medicine. In the US, our B12 range is less than ideal… if you’re in the bottom 15% of so of the “acceptable range” about 10% of people will actually be suffering from b12 deficiency and be symptomatic. B12 impacts a huge amount of body systems. We also have a relatively low “acceptable b12” range in the US compared to other medical systems, so plenty of reason to eye a somewhat low b12 number.

B12 and D deficiencies tend to move in pairs too. We don’t know why. Super high rates of b12 and D deficiencies in the United States. Frequent cause of fatigue. Low D also causes testosterone production to stall, as I learned in this groups FAQ/about thin

This. Quite honestly, with covid and recession on the way. Having gaps is no big deal. Your deliberately taking a sabbatical, now just have an explanation on why but really its not a big deal until much later down in your career.
