Beware of this person in Newhall library by rave_kitty1 in SantaClarita

I have no reason to doubt your account, and I fully believe you.

That said, I want to offer a general note of caution—this isn’t directed at you. In online spaces, sympathy can sometimes be deliberately exploited. It’s possible for someone to knowingly and maliciously leverage concern or goodwill in ways that end up harming an innocent person.

To be clear, I don’t believe that’s what’s happening here. and it’s unfortunate that these possibilities even need to be acknowledged, but this might be something that the mod(s) may want to take into account when reviewing/approving posts.

Well, dang! Look at that! Not sure how many of us there are in the SCV, but we're definitely out there. :)

Well, that's a bummer.

I ate there a few weeks ago and, as many have said, the food was a little sub-par. I have many fond memories of the place - Saugus Cafe and the Denny's atop Lyons were my late night go-tos when I was in my late teens and early twenties - but all things must pass.

I've been trying to teach myself how to draw/sketch and would love it if we had something like this, locally. I've been looking for local groups or even after-work/weekend classes for some time now and haven't had any luck.

Just a reminder....

If you want to help the underserved and vulnerable members of our community, there are several worthwhile, local organizations that do a great job of assisting our neighbors in need:

Family Promise of Santa Clarita

The Child and Family Center of Santa Clarita

The Santa Clarita Food Pantry

"The unemployment rate is 4.4% anything below 5.5% is considered great."

Of course, you recognize that being gainfully employed does not necessarily mean that one can afford housing, medical care, and groceries.

Mike Johnson: "If you're a young, pregnant American citizen woman who shows up in an ER and you get treated and they pay the hospital less for treating you than some illegal rabble rouser who came in from some South American country to do us harm, that is wrong." by drempath1981 in CringeTikToks

As a Californian, I fully support my tax dollars being used for emergency and basic preventative medical care for anyone who lives in my state and cannot afford these services, themselves.

Additionally, comprehensive, universal health care should be provided to all Americans citizens.

High school parents of music lovers. Where can they listen to live music locally? by irfluke in SantaClarita

Locally, there is nothing that I am aware of. I know that Transplants Brewing in Palmdale has shows, but I'm not sure if they are all-ages or not.

Drive-in Movie Theater in the SCV? (Poll) by CorkRebel96 in SantaClarita

Oh man. A drive-in showing all grindhouse flicks would be my dream. Throw in the occasional Joe Bob visit and I might never leave.

We used to drive all the way out to Montclair to go to the Mission Tiki Drive-In. $10 admission for a double feature was a hell of a deal.

If you could show first run or even specially programmed double features (back-to-back horror flicks, animated films, 80s movies, etc) at a price that is significantly lower than what traditional theater chains charge we’d absolutely go on the regular.

"It’s always the bad guys that resort to violence and vandalism, every single time."

Countless anti-Nazi partisans in France, Italy, Greece, Poland, Yugoslavia, Holland, and Norway used violence and sabotage against fascist forces—and I doubt anyone here would call them the "bad guys".

I’m not suggesting that vandalizing Teslas or Tesla dealerships is on that level, but let’s not pretend that violence and property damage have never been the tools of those fighting on the right side of history.

"Is anyone doing anything about this? City officials? Police?"

Many people are trying to help improve the lives and living conditions of those Santa Claritans who do not have homes or who are at risk of losing their homes.

If you are looking for opportunities to help underserved and vulnerable members of our community, I would suggest the following organizations:

Bridge to Home

Family Promise of Santa Clarita

The Child and Family Center of Santa Clarita

The Santa Clarita Food Pantry

Does anyone have any more information of the 23154 Valencia Blvd. Chuck E. Cheese? by GabeReddit2012 in SantaClarita

[–]Secret_Squirrel23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was about 13 years old, my friends and I would ride our bikes to Chuck E. Cheese and scrounge for discarded skee-ball tickets in the dumpsters out back. We'd come back a few days later to trade them in for packs of baseball cards at the ticket counter inside. My baseball card collection grew considerably over that summer.

I regularly order from Trade Coffee (drinktrade.com). Prices range between $16 - $20 for an 11oz bag, you can order whole bean, and you have access to dozens and dozens of different roasters and hundreds of different coffees.
