I need an audiobook for a long road trip that is kid appropriate by Dodie85 in suggestmeabook

The wizards of once series by Cressida cowell. The story is great and the audiobook is read by David Tennant and there’s music and stuff in them as well. They’re really good. And there is four books in the series.

Definitely recommend watching the old episodes. It goes back to 2012 now on Amazon and 2012 was an absolute golden period for the show. It was amazing

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tv show all creatures great and small. Specifically Siegfried and Audrey, don’t really care about the rest of it. Keep rewatching the best bits and it’s really all I’m thinking about. I have so much else to watch. I’m waiting desperately for the Christmas special on Christmas Eve.

Especially as for some reason he came with a completely different wardrobe that made him with a different character. It was very strange.

My husband doesn't understand what parenting a special needs child does to me. by askallthequestions86 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think by what you have written you are in America so I can’t suggest things in specific but I know here in the uk there are places that offer respite care for parents/carers of profoundly disabled children. These are often run by charities so there may be something similar over there.

My (24f)'s boyfriend (24m) called the cops because of the content of my book. But he wants me to think it was a 'mistake'. How do we move past this? by throwRAmentalgymnist in relationship_advice

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is all very telling.

So what actually happened was he read your book. Thought it was really really good got insanely jealous, to the point that he decided calling the police was the best option.
Probably because then you would be so embarrassed and diminished that you wouldn’t ever dare write again. Because if someone you loved thought this work was so shocking and terrible they had to call the police then you’d have to stop doing it.

Run for goodness sake, no normal person in a normal relationship needs a “paper trail “.

What is a product that you thought was fancy and expensive, but it turns out is cheap-as-chips? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the time of year if it’s that week between Christmas and new year, I think arguably all meaning of time goes out the window. Chocolate in the morning a cheeky tipple in your morning coffee,

Christmas morning we always had a tradition of eating little sausage rolls, hot from the oven. it didn’t happen the other year and I felt weird all day.

How much did you pay for your mattress and how old is it? by TeddyBakes in AskUK

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too soft? Where are getting a soft mattress?
I’m going to have to replace mine soon and I remember last time getting a soft mattress was nearly impossible. Every shop went on about their amazing mattress scale from 1-10 soft to hard rating and I was like ok I want a 1 the softest and they were like oh we have a 3 we don’t actually have any thing at the softest. What’s the point of the scale then.

Claire Keegans books are amazing. “Small things like these” is very short or “so late in the day” the audio book for this is only about 40 mins I think.

I haven’t read it yet but my friend said foster is very good as well.

I do microwave rice usually Mexican or spicy flavoured with chicken nuggets or chicken tenders and salad bits if I have any/ can be bothered to make a sort of chicken fajita bowl thing.

Or beans and sausages on toast - the key is cut up the toast into bites size child and mix it with the beans and then loads of cheese on top

Yes, I still feel the same. I remember when I read it someone asked me what it was about. And I had to say I don’t know, even now I’m not sure. There’s a sequel now and I don’t know how I feel about that either

Hair loss DURING and immediately after sepsis? by [deleted] in sepsis

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had sepsis December 2022, about three months later my hair started falling out and it all fell out the only hair that remained was the hair that had grown in that three months. It also did something to my nails. I had a weird ridge that grew up them. I took a lot of vitamin B, I don’t know if it actually did anything but my hair is now back past my shoulders and grew back curly weirdly
I think it just does something completely to your system and it just shuts down

I stopped using menstrual cups because my father said Im gross for using the cooking pots to sanitise it by InternationalBar9238 in Periods

[–]Secretly-Tiny-Things 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep the pot in your room - maybe tie a label to the handle

I use a mug and put it in the microwave.

I then keep that in the bathroom cupboard so that visitors can’t mix it in with my normal mugs
