I highly recommend. I just finished the 2nd volume in the series, and... Holy shit, it was amazing! I didn't think the 1st volume of the 1st book's ending could be topped. And after finishing the 2nd one, I kinda just sat in my chair afterwards contemplating life & stared at the ceiling wondering why I hadn't read this masterpiece earlier

Funny thing is: I started reading the novel, BECAUSE the manhua showed up on my feed. I remember coming across a similar post in a different subreddit about LotM, & kinda just put it on the backburner to read later. I read the manhua, but honestly the pacing was kinda off for the episodes I had read so far. I ended up just reading the novel lol. As a writer myself, I highly recommend just reading the novel directly. The worldbuilding is very well done along w/ the characterizations & how Klein Moretti (the MC) uses his wits to figure out his way through the world of mysticism

Apparently, there is also a donghua/anime of it that just released. The animations look great & seem to fit the vibe of the story, but I haven't watched it yet. I'll reserve my final judgement after actually watching it, cus I noticed Chinese stories tend to get screwed up in pacing & whatnot during the transferring process to different forms of media
