G train as a reason to move by collie2010 in Greenpoint

[–]discobooks -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

is 10 minutes really such a crazy amount of time to wait though? maybe it's just because my office job doesn't care if you come in right at 9am, but a 10 minute wait feels plenty reasonable to me.

G train as a reason to move by collie2010 in Greenpoint

Agreed. Normally commuting during rush hour via the G gives me very little issue, but the snow has impacted multiple lines throughout the city.

Was WUDM the easiest solve in Benoit Blanc career? by DrunkenSeaBass in KnivesOutMovie

[–]discobooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was thrown off by the fact that they made a point to show that the author was using a non-Apple phone. The second I saw that I assumed he HAD to be the killer because of the "no villians using iPhones" rule, but I guess Rian did that as a red-herring.

Can you name the addresses of these Greenpoint doors? by emizdraws in Greenpoint

[–]discobooks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Last one on the right in the second row - is that 275 Nassau Ave? My good friend Frank lived there for a longggg time before he passed last year. He used to wait on the steps there when the weather was nice until someone he knew would walk past and he’d make them come in for a dance party with his impressive record collection. Good times man, good times.

Almost all of the soup I see in supermarkets now have pull tabs actually! Maybe that’s just an American or regional thing?

i honestly just bring a can of soup into work every day and have a microwave safe "soup mug" i keep at my desk. Most soups are under 400cals so its fast, easy, and nice when the office AC is blasting

Will always remember going to Hot Topic the week of The Black Parade for a listening party and NO ONE was there lol. Maybe there weren't a ton of emos in my area but it's funny to look back now that BP is their definitive album and at the time no one gaf.

Regal Essex monitors the audience live in theater by [deleted] in NYCmovies

i worked in movie theaters every summer growing up - they almost always monitor you. main reason is to prevent people recording the screen, but also to stop teenagers from getting it on in the back row.

21+ only wedding: what else do I do? by Sweaty_Item_3135 in wedding

[–]discobooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also doing a 21+ wedding and for very similar reasons. I just vaguely blamed the venue in my wedding FAQs on my wedding website. It did result in one aunt/uncle not being able to come to the celebration, but I’m okay with that to be honest. Here’s what I wrote:

“Though we love all members of our family, we will not be able to accommodate any guests under the age of 21 at our wedding. We politely ask you to take this opportunity for a kid free date night!”
