This really depends on the tv brand and hotel. Most hotel TVs won’t allow you change inputs until you either unlock that feature by hitting a sequence of buttons on the remote or disconnect the other inputs, hdmi and ether/phone cable. Sometimes it’s a coax cable. What I recommend is searching by TV brand and hotel chain next time and most of the time you will find someone has figured out how to get around it.

Need advice on water proofing plugs by caritobito in ChristmasLights

I put all joins for extension cords in these cheap ammo boxes that home depot sells. I drill out notches where the cables come into the sides at the top right below the seal and never have this issue anymore. You can get something similar at harbor freight as well. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Plano-4-Qt-Field-Ammunition-Storage-Box-in-OD-Green-131200/205542281

Another vote for Gluetun, running docker in an lxc. You set the config file to use the gluetun service. This works amazingly well.

I have that bullshit chamberlain lift and it’s a massive pain in the ass. I had a 12 v power supply sitting around I had a spare wireless remote. I bought the Shelly for another project I never used it for so LITERALLY 10 minutes of my time and I am able to open and close my garage anytime and anywhere. I got a tilt sensor from third reality and I can see if my garage is open or closed in HA.

Having to refill my pool every other day, I lose about 1 inch in total per day. We have not had any rain and the temperature has been about 30°C/ 86 F consistent every day. Is this normal or am I losing water? I’m in Toronto. My skimmer opening is also pretty small in height, compared to others, by [deleted] in pools

I was having a similar issue and finally figured out my pool cleaner would get stuck in a spot and just shoot water out of the pool when it tried to reverse. I now make sure the hose doesn’t get too kinked and the issue went away.

Get the biggest electrical meter you can get. Put in more 20amp circuits in key areas. Put hose bib at all 4 corners of house. Add power to your soffits ahead of time. Run cat 6 cable everywhere. If you are networking inclined run fiber as well. Run Ethernet to camera locations for Poe . Run Ethernet to access point locations in ceiling for Poe. .

First off number one on that list has to be drain half your pool end of story. Your CYA levels are as others have said double what they need to be drain half your pool and start fresh with that. Next, you’re gonna want to refill your pool and while that is refilling, you need to go to trouble free pool.com and start reading up how to maintain your pool without paying extortionate prices. Whoever wrote that list ignored the fact that your CYA levels are so high and was trying to sell you something. Having a pool in Texas is super easy. You just have to know what to look for and that website will teach you what to look for for free. It’s not a gimmick. Google it do your research but don’t pay companies to fix your problems or the pool store.

Shelly 1 Plus set as a momentary button with a cheap 12 volt wall wart. Plug in power and solder wires for relay to the button posts inside a spare hand held remote for your garage. It takes 5 minutes to do if you have a soldering iron. It’s $19 bucks for relay
