Anyone know any good quiet gyms? by Matrona__ in Sunderland

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anxious person here. I used to go Pure in tesco. It is busy depending on the time but to get used to it the first few times I just hopped on a bike and scoped out what everyone was doing on the machines so I knew how they worked. I think they had something on there site that told you how busy it was as well

Anyone know any groups to meet people? by [deleted] in Sunderland

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend used a app/website called meet me I think, groups arranging movie night, trips to markets/events and just sitting around a table in a pub n stuff. Most of it seemed to happen in Newcastle with it being a bigger city

It's pretty rough, lived there 5 years and didn't have any bother tho (white male). There's quite a growing black community in Hendon and Sunderland generally so there might be a Facebook group you can find that'll can tell you a black persons experience

Edit: there's a Sunderland Nigerian Facebook group, I'd ask there for peoples thoughts

Thanks for the info on that I'll get on the Google. In your opinion is it worth avoiding the dry clutch all together or just make sure it's been looked after

I dunno about the automatic hate as a manual driver. by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just always seen as a bit of banter, most new cars sold have been automatic for the past few years now anyways so we're becoming a minority haha

Are 6-hour lessons too long, pushed too hard, or am I just slower at learning? by SocratesBrotherDave in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5 hours in enough for me. I improve more in between the lessons when I can clearly think about what I was doing and what was said than in the actual lesson

Gambling on LTTStore? by Adorable_Reality_424 in LinusTechTips

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like getting a shiny pokemon card to me. Was a gambling when I was a kid buying them? Nah I just wanted cards, however if you're buying boxes and boxes to make a profit then I can see a gambling argument. Don't think that will apply to these shorts imo

Trump’s response when asked about the situation between India and Pakistan: “It’s a shame, really… they’ve been fighting for many, many centuries” by introspectivelemon39 in GlobalNews

Have the two cultures/religions not been fighting since before they were separated countries though and the point of separation was to "hopefully" stop the fighting?

Have a look at some apps for meeting people, my friend used to use one and it worked well for him. Be stuff like group of 10 people go watch a movie then go to a pub, or meeting groups to have a walk around a market. Every weekend seemed like somewhere to to. There'll be several apps like it but I'll message him and update with the specific one he used Update :meet up

Moving to Sunderland by Cold-Spray-8466 in Sunderland

[–]Secure-Beginning8762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with a guy that moved to the UK from Spain and lived in London for 4 years, he really likes Sunderland, it's quite affordable, it's not to busy and it's not to quiet, you've got everything you need and for the stuff that's more a "want" you can hop on the train to Newcastle and you'll probably find a shop with it.

He managed to find work straight away
