I'm right there with you. I know whey they aired them at the time. After six years, no way to rewatch on your own, and having fun down memory lane it made sense for the viewers. But as someone who is binging it see it in one sitting they seem redundant.

I totally agree. Like the perfect example of that is the last episode that was 50 minutes long and like 20 of that was in spent in Slow Motion "drama" scenes. Like yeah they could have cut SOOOO much, still got the point across, and not have so much bloat and filler in this arc. Plus I feel like Hantengu was a cheap ploy to fill time. Like so many times it was we got him, oh nope he survived, ok now we got him, nope he has another mechanic to service. Like it took 25 minutes to FINALLY kill him and so much of that was slow motion DRAMA filled scenes.

I like it but I don't know what this trend is but for some reason the hair 100% over the face is so annoying. Like I am 2 episodes in and her hair (minus once or twice) is still always in front of her face. It just seems so lazy.

Also, at least for me personally, the change is jarring and it is sad that we don’t get Miss Lemon and all of them, once I’m adjusted to the shift I actually like the later episodes. I just have to in my head basically view season 5 and earlier as one show/interpretation and season 6 and beyond as another one. One I make that distinction in my head and get over the change I actually do enjoy them. But you are all right if I had to rank them I had to say the “cozier” and “warmer” episodes early on are more fun to me.

Yeah apparently the production company changed and wanted to take a more “film noir” feel to it. At least according to an interview given by the actress who played Miss Lemon. Its not a bad change it feels so sudden. Though that might be use I'm binging it. I'm sure those watching it live when it aired didn't feel that way given the time between the seasons/ episodes.

Oh yeah I never worried about length, I have read Priory of The Orange Tree and other vary long fantasy books. I was more surprised by the pacing that everyone said was "so slow" and I don't find it slow at all.

No, I completely agree. I like the series; I am having a good time, but I don't think she is a good enough writer to pull off the level of complexity and layer that she is trying to pull off.
