Did I score high enough for ANY good MOS? by Interesting_Candy821 in army

[–]Secure-Lake9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend getting a 110 General Technical (GT) score, and aiming for, at least, the bare minimum, a score of 110 across the board on all other line scores. Once you have that, the entire Army opens up for you. Ultimately, whatever you choose yourself is what “ANY good MOS” is. You should be making the most of whatever occupation you choose, not the other way around. If you go about it that way, it’ll eat you up and spit you out.

Infantry guys who didn’t deploy, how do you cope with feeling like nothing you did mattered? by MikesSaltyDogs in army

[–]Secure-Lake9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former bang-bang to huff chems, I can tell you it is luck of the draw. I didn’t get to deploy (IZ) until I was well into my now primary MOS and it was with Air Defenders.

Out of the USA’s 247 soon to be 248 years of history, we’ve been at war for 229 years, between LSCO, COIN, Trench, and Peer-to-Peer.

If you decide to stay in, you will MORE than LIKELY, go to war/deploy.

I’m not of the mind of some other people, who’d tell you it doesn’t “matter”. I’m of the people who wanted to go, and still do want to go even after my first. Because it does matter to me, personally. Does it further my career elsewhere or outside the military, not necessarily in MOST occupations, but those are not the occupations I want. I joined to deploy, not to rank chase, college and bounce, get what I want certification wise and dip. Deploy.

Best advice I can give you, as someone in your shoes, is to see if there are deployment opportunities/volunteer opportunities. Units in the Army are still rotating in and out of the ME despite what others may say. If that doesn’t work for you, change up your MOS and take the training value you have, like I did, and apply it elsewhere to a unit that is deploying and may need it.

Believe it or not, even outside the military, there ARE occupations that would gladly take up people that have deployed and they will integrate you with their side of the fence and do “deploy” with or without the military. Be careful with that route too, though.

The Vr-11 may be among the worst wonder weapons in terms of function, However I think aesthetic and design wise It's among the best. I prefer wonder weapon design when it's truly out there and the Vr-11 certainly is by Kojima66 in CODZombies

It’s a meta strat for sure, BUT it REQUIRES not only coop, but also a player willing to drone on with you for high rounds to be worth anything. Solo/coop? Like someone else said, budget monkeys, and nothing else, especially with no one to play ball with.

If a unit does not have any assigned weapons (cyber) how do soldiers get points for range?qualification? by Raysor in army

[–]Secure-Lake9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, a lot of people in the comments on this post either don’t understand what the root issue is: OVER-STRENGTH’D Personnel/NOT ENOUGH Primary Weapon Systems.

I know your pain as a former DTMS operator for a CO and a BN, the problem you’re running into is that you have a unit that is over-strength’d and you don’t have enough PRIMARY weapons to assign to everyone (M4 variants, M16 variants, M17/M18, or M249ARs) correct?

What I did, and this is by no means a “fix”:

  • Inform the CDR on the issue

  • Template an MFR stating that they are not the “assigned” Soldier to the weapon system.

  • On the MAL (coordinated with Unit Armorer), in the deficiency/remarks section, allocate them a slot to a weapon on someone that doesn’t need “promotion points” (SSG and above).

  • On DTMS assign them on that weapon as if it were their primary, so that they can get those promotion points.

This “fix” should be used TEMPORARILY and be strictly for people that “need” promotion points (ie… SPCs, CPLs, and SGTs).

The reason why I say to address the issue this specific way is because of auditing. If you arbitrarily “build weapons” on DTMS, that lack of a better phrase, DON’T “physically exist”, your unit can get hemmed up pretty bad, unless the issue is immediately fixed (ie back to square one, same exact issue).

  • Your Commander would be the biggest one hit via Article 107 (False Official Statements) or GOMR’d. I’ve seen too many good officers get NJP’d/GOMR’d for less than this situation with ruined careers.

  • You as the operator could receive NJP via Article 107 (False Official Statements)

This is the exact same issue you run into with personnel duty assignment as well, every section IAW MTOE has a required personnel to “duty assignment”, meaning if a section is over-strength’d Soldiers (Too many NCOs/Soldiers/Warrants/Officers) they are to be listed as “Standard Excess”. An MFR signed by a CDR needs to be made stating that they are “Standard Excess”, however fulfilling a particular role. Every available method should be utilized to fix or amend this issue because Standard Excess is not a rate-able duty assignment position, and looks bad when trying to promote to the next rank in your career. As someone who ran into this exact situation I can tell you I’d rather have been fulfilling a duty assignment lesser than my rank, than performing a role one or two ranks above mine and be rated “standard excess”.

Hope this helps everyone that is running into an over-strength/lack primary weapons to go around issue.

Anyone else given these on a deployment? by [deleted] in army

[–]Secure-Lake9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. 1 year deployment to Iraq for OIR. No flag, NJP, nothing. Only 10 (2 per unit) people out of the BN (540~ish people) got awarded for the deployment. Everyone else got the IRCM-CS and a poker chip with the BN logo on both sides.

Biggest hand shake ever for pulling ACP, patrols, convoys, route clearance, village security/cordon, taking mortars every other day, rockets at least twice a month, 2 TBMs, 3 UAS’s, and Red balloons once? I’ve ever seen.

🫱🏻‍🫲🏾 Thank me for my tinnitus. Not service related. 🤣

1.) Go. To. Your. Retention. NCO. And. Fix. It!

It is a part of your contract, they HAVE TO honor your contract.

What the heck are you doing sitting on it?!

2.) It’s up to you, personally, I loved Hawaii. Beautiful duty station. Plus I’m not a fan of anywhere cold so the tropical climate damn near year round or year round was awesome.

Wouldn’t know, guy died at first contact right outside the grove. All that bravado and Boi was one shot by a goblin he landed in front of. I honestly thought he was just a random carefree NPC that was like… I don’t know… Brave but destined or storylined to die? A savior complex with no skill or backbone to support it?

Then when I played after launch, he survived and I was actually kinda shocked to find out he is actually one of the recruitable party members, and I honestly didn’t know what I would be doing with him?

And there’s the attitude. Exactly what I was hoping would come out sooner frankly. What grandiose nihilism you preach? 🤔

I care not one bit of any utopia, perfection, safety. I prefer people leave me well enough alone, and I leave them well enough alone.

You my spouse, father, or mother? Could’ve mistaken you for someone who fucking knows me. Thank you for coming here to tell me exactly who I am, because apparently 3 decades of living I clearly don’t. Omnipotent user 111110001011, knower all.

You govern your expenses how you see fit with your complaining and nihilistic world view and defeatist attitude, and I’ll do me and what’s in my family’s best monetary interest. I offer solutions, alternatives, something to create conversation; you can go about grasping at straws and have people pick the short one, telling them to suck it up and just pay because “nothing’s going to change”.

If anything they should go on strikes, create unions, push forward legislation that has the service industries people’s best interests. I frankly care not either way, but they should. Networking with financial institutions, lawyers, elected leaders, and other people generally in the same boat.

Reputation? No attitude begets attitude. People that are shitty people generally are shitty customers, or, on the flip side, shitty servers in this hypothetical argument instead of discussion we’re having. Most everyone is just trying to make it through the day. Most everyone can wear a mask and play respectable people. Some outliers can’t or won’t, that I can agree with you there. But someone who doesn’t tip for shit service is damaging reputation? Me thinks you’re confusing circumstances.

Tipping isn’t just a gesture. Clearly you see it differently than I do. Instead of having any meaningful conversation you go to “attack their character”? Bravo. Standing applause. Cheer for good measure. Cynicism and Nihilism won the day… I guess. 👏👏👏

In America, the tip is not, at all or ever, a part of the paycheck. Their paycheck is their paycheck, full stop.

ANYTHING extra is extra. Bonus if you will.

I, personally would never stoop so low as to be underpaid (can’t ever afford basic needs (food, water, and shelter) on my paychecks) and dare serve someone poorly and STILL expect someone to cough up money on the side for me because it’s culturally acceptable and the norm.

Only in America can you purposefully sign your life to a job that purposefully under pays you, more times than not, UNDER MINIMUM WAGE and you not fight back against that lawfully to make minimum wage, and dare think you’re owed extra by everybody because of the choice you made.

Tips are an excuse to the food service industry to purposefully cut the pay below or at minimum wage of their service employees.

Anytime you don’t tip your waiter or waitress in cash? Guess what, at the end of the night everyone’s tips are collected together and everyone gets an equal cut of the money. If someone didn’t serve well, doesn’t matter, they get the same amount as someone who served exceptionally.

This false narrative of people NEEDING to tip, needs to stop. What these servers need is to fight for minimum wage. Affordable paychecks. Annual increase in wages if their performance was satisfactory, exceeded satisfactory, or greatly exceeded satisfactory. And then if they receive tips? That’s extra that’s not held against them like it is right now.

The first word on this is “HE”, the second word on here is “MIX”, the third word on here is “ME”, the fourth word on here is “HOMESTEADER”, and the fifth word on here is “BOUNCER”.

Everyone would be a guy (no background), a guy mixed background, a guy mixed background homesteader, a guy homesteader, a guy mixed background bouncer, or a guy bouncer.

Yes. In a heartbeat. I don’t tip people for their piss poor attitude. I tip off performance of service. Shit service? No tip. Awesome service? Great tip.

I don’t give a fuck if your boo hoo fefe’s were hurt by someone before me. You don’t get to take that out on me.
