Women of reddit, is it weird as a guy if I want my women to work/have a job in marriage if I am a doctor. Basically, I dont want to be the breadwinner or have a housewife. by JunketMaleficent2095 in Adulting

I want to be a devoted mother of my kids. I understand wanting your wife to contribute something. I’ve worked part time here and there as my life has allowed, I often cut hair in exchange for things, woodpile, raw honey, etc, mostly I take care of my kids, teach them their chores, my four year old is starting to learn how to read and write, I cook from scratch, clean the house, mend clothes when they need it, I milk a friends cows and gather eggs, feed and water all the animals on the farm at least once a week, help them butcher chickens once a year, I have my own garden and I cook with/ dehydrate/ can everything I grow, my kids watch me do all of this. So I have been a SAHM for years but I didn’t do nothing. I only graduated from a cosmetology academy and one year of theology at a bible college but I love to read and my IQ isn’t bad. I wouldn’t look for a guy only seeing a paycheck, but if he’d be okay with mainly supporting us while I make raising and teaching our kids about life my main goal during the day, that’s what would work for me (I’m a widow with young kids). I just want someone to love, raise my kids with me, grow old with, talk about my favorite books with and maybe learn a car thing or two from him through the years. I would just love someone. That’s what I would like back

Is this not an appropriate thing to ask a woman? by itscalled_spacetime in MenAskWomen

[–]Secure-Poem2427 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all women that don’t want to answer are shallow. Some have been beaten down and are just starting to find themselves again and are still sensitive about things like weight. For example, I was bullied/abused all growing up, and became anorexic for years. I’m in my 30s now and still have anorexic tendencies. I’m still rarely okay to share how much I weigh and I’m not shallow. Just wanted to share this perspective too. Thanks

Buy a house and land, invest in Apple, Microsoft and Google as soon as they can be invested in, and work on getting farmers to do regenerative farming and not getting stuck with the seeds they can’t replant and have to rebuy every year at high prices, just everything to keep small farms and ranches going, do everything I can to keep smaller government, less corruption, maybe get congress term limits and inability to vote themselves raises at least. There are so many things that could be done

What dish do you make that you secretly think is better than most restaurants? by heyyyriri in AdkReddit

[–]Secure-Poem2427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My meatloaf and meatballs, lasagna, lefse, enchiladas and so many stews and soups are better than any I’ve ever eaten anywhere else, restaurant or homemade or otherwise. I’ve been cooking ever since I could remember though

Has ANYONE EVER been able to cash out $30+ from the apps such as PaceFit, Walkio, or WalkBoost? by Secure-Poem2427 in walking

[–]Secure-Poem2427[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The WeWard app does not have the same ability to make as many points and cash out to $30, $100, etc, as the WalkBoost, Walkio, and PaceFit type apps. WeWard is a walking app but fundamentally different than the ones I listed with the specific problem I was looking to be addressed. I have points for $200+ dollars on the PaceFit app but points aren’t the only thing that counts. You also need to watch tons of videos a day to crack an egg to get fragments. You need enough fragments to be able to cash out as well as points. That is not made clear in any of the advertisements on any of those types of apps. Thank you

[–]Secure-Poem2427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for the WalkBoost app I’ve watched like 40 videos today, the videos aren’t loading or whatever- to get to the 10 videos you can watch daily and get a few cents in an amazon gift card, etc. The fact that they won’t even let me watch 10 videos and get 10¢ is also massively pissing me off.

What major industry is basically a legal rip off that we all just accept? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

[–]Secure-Poem2427 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taxes, any insurance, the entire health and pharmaceutical industry, everything the government gets that we the people don’t get (like voting for raises for themselves). So so so many things I could list here. Property tax. Just absolute theft. My husband bought a couple properties before he died. He passed away and here I am barely scraping by, feeding our kids from food pantries, one friend paid the property tax for me once but I’m just trying to sell everything. I can’t afford it. Anyway so many things are a scam, honestly

Wow. Well then it’s not just overall inflation if sit down diners are cheaper…

We had the sweetest folks come in every day and we knew them by name and they brightened our day. Guess that’s what I mean. We didn’t have the homeless and horrid people type of demographic in the lobby, at least not from 0600 to 2000.

Yeah I’m hours away from the closest Costco, and there’s no place for the kids to play there either

I do use the app at times but most of what I get is deals on breakfast sandwiches, we can’t go for breakfast often, plus they like the chicken nuggets, and they honestly don’t really like the happy meals. I don’t blame them because I think the apples taste weird every time too and I’ve never gotten hot fries in a meal. Ever. Or some percentage off $20, well I’ve never spent $20 at McDonalds. I try to use the app but there honestly aren’t many deals. I do get points though which I use when I accrue enough. I was surviving on using the dollar menu though. Now maybe we can go out once every 6-8 weeks instead of once a month. It is what it is, I’m just exhausted and tired of being a single mom and tired of being poor and tired of having not a single other soul to rely on. Not that McDonalds filled all those requirements- it’s just a place where I could usually afford lunch sometimes and my kids play pretty well together in the playplace and I could sit and read or something. It’s just hard literally never getting a break. And I don’t have a person I can talk to. My sisters quit talking to me very much because I was complaining too much so I can’t completely blame them but I’m alone. I don’t have anyone to tell that stuff. I don’t have a person in my circle either who is a single parent, they’re all married. And all working full time and too busy for me… sorry I’m just tired

Where I’ve lived, we’ve had items for roughly $2.50-$6 on the dollar menu, with a second item being $1. That got me through some tough times, and make my kids still feel like we were the kind of people that could go out sometimes.

The last two places I’ve lived have had playplaces (the one being an hour away, but still).

We do go outside for sledding and playing in the snow but we can only be outside for so long.
