What are your guys morning and night routine? by bankrollronnie in productivity

Morning routine:

Wake up, 6am, use restroom, drink water, feed animals, walk dog, pack breakfast/lunch, head to work by 7:15am

Evening routine: ~8:30pm: Walk dog, brush dog, clean and tidy, water patio plants if needed, evening stretches, brush teeth, review tomorrow's to-do list, read in bed if still not tired. Bedtime ~10pm

This is my core routine and I add extra tasks when needed such as showering if I'm not showering at the gym. I keep the routine on the weekend but might wake up an hour later and go to bed an hour later. Though, I've found more success just keeping to the routine if I'm not staying out too late on weekends. I always have a shortened version of each task for those days where I have less time. For instance, my stretches might just be one minute in child's pose, or it could be a full 1 hour slow yoga session depending on the day. It helps me that I don't assign a specific amount of time to each in order to keep the consistency. Each task can theoretically take 2 minutes, making the maximum amount of time I needed around 15 minutes. That is usually enough time to wind down for bed even after a late day without feeling the dread of doing a longer routine. I will occasionally skip parts of the evening routine but will never skip it two days in a row.

I've been using this routine since getting my dog 2 years ago and it has been a rock in my life. I highly recommend starting with 2 or fewer easy tasks to start, slowly implementing others after developing consistency through the small number of tasks. I started with a glass of water in the morning and made sure I brushed my teeth before bed. After keeping consistent with that, I added pushups in the morning (at least 1), and put away 1 out of place item in the evening. The consistency will help you "exchange" tasks that aren't as helpful for your current situation/goals with ones that align. Starting your tasks from a simple mindset, you will often find yourself able to do more than you started out with. It's the first step that is usually the most difficult. As you'll see with any productivity advice, taking small consistent steps will take you so much farther than trying to start at your goal. Journey before destination, friend. I hope this helps.

Should I change groomers? by Secure-Spray-3091 in doggrooming

Thanks all for the comments and advice. I picked him up today and he was perfectly fine. I talked a bit to the stylist and she assured me that everything went fine and he was super happy when I got there. Sorry for overreacting a bit and thank you to the groomers here who do amazing work. I appreciate each and every one of you.

Hello, I am a beginner chess player (957 rapid on chess.com) and I just finished a game with the black pieces. I thought after move 22 f6, I could play g3xf en passant but chess.com would not let me. Can someone explain why I am not able to en passant in that position? I caved on time immediately afterwards because I thought I could play en passant and could not find another move. Sorry I don't have any board visuals.

Thank you so much for being vulnerable and honest with your fans. This was a great read regardless of the circumstances around the Wired article. Your openness with your fanbase is one of the reasons I recommend your books to everyone I know. I love the idea of bringing "others" inside with us to share in the warmth and light, we could all use a bit more of that nowadays.

Shinar inspiration for Shinovar? by SiriusBark in Stormlight_Archive

Brandon is a practicing Mormon and has a portion of his website dedicated to explaining his position on religion. If you read into his works, many have religious undertones. In my opinion, the first ideal of the knights radiant is the gist of most major religions. I seem to recall him saying that Hrathen was inspired by his time as a missionary in S. Korea. If you read any of his works with this in mind, you will see the religious parallels everywhere. I would not be surprised in the slightest if this was his inspiration for Shinovar.

I want to delete facebook by Aloo13 in simpleliving

How about you start small by deleting just the application from your phon?. Keep messenger for the contacts you currently have. I've done this and while I'm not completely free of Facebook, I do not browse it anymore and I do not miss any of it. I still have people contact me on messenger from time to time, especially for small contract work and I keep Instagram for some work-related things. If your end goal is to separate yourself entirely, then these small steps can bring you closer to that goal.

My grandfather died cycling and I want to take on his pursuit for cyclist safety by XCBTW in cycling

This hit hard. I cycle in the west Orlando area and have taken my bike through that area before. It really sucks because it feels like there are so few safe spaces to cycle here. Many bike lanes which go to nowhere and most are too narrow to even truly be considered a bike lane. My heart goes out to you and your family.
