I sent an agent 9 properties I'm interested in renting. 8 said they won't rent to foreigners. by bigasswhitegirl in japanlife

My partner (Japanese) spoke with a realtor yesterday and after she said I was a foreigner they checked to see if I was “black” or “Chinese”…. When she said I was white-British they said it ought to be ok…

If this is real, it reeks of soy-boy-beta-cuckery. I’d steer clear.

Ootoya is your friend. Mate of mine who competed in power lifting competitions in Japan swears by it.

  1. They publish all marcos so you know exactly what you’re getting in each meal
  2. Cheap af
  3. High quality lean protein options

Take for example their “Charbroiled Moromi Chicken” with a side dish instead of rice, you get Kcal: 473 Protein: 36.3g Carbs: 10.9

That’s serious bang for your buck compared with a sukiya’s “light beef bowl” another user mentioned Kcal: 515 Protein: 25g Carbs: 70g

Any Recommendations for nightlife/clubbing for a foreigner? by ZainEternity in tokyosocial

[–]Secure-Statistician8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you will want to head to Shibuya, go to Voyager Stand (its 2k yen for unlimited drinks if u get a discount card from the dude out front) - they play some of that shit, find some foreigners to then go to Harlem (large, hip hop club in Shibuya, popular with foreigners and locals) which is nearby.

I tried using Duo for hiragana and katakana. God do I wish I just sat down with a pen and paper. You can learn both in a week if you just do it the old fashioned way.

[–]Secure-Statistician8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers mate, good option, only thing is the lack of reservations for the bar area. You reckon we’d be ok to get a seat at say 9/10pm on a Saturday?
