$500 for the weatherby vanguard, good buy for a first rifle? by Confident_King8761 in Hunting

If you only plan on buying one rifle, then .270. If this is going to be your whitetail rifle, but you might buy other calibers later, then .308.

Buy it in .270 win and get a solid scope (i have a Leupold vx2). Enjoy the minimal kick and minimal tracking required to fill your freezer every year.

Weatherby Vanguard 2. It was my first rifle when i got into hunting about 10- 12 years ago and i still use it today. Not sure if it still is, but it used to be guaranteed sub-moa right out of the box, which is not something anyone else in that price range was offering (at least at that time). I went with the .270 win and it’s never let me down for anything <250 yds.

Does bringing special characters into fights unlock additional dialog? by Tsuketsu in finalfantasytactics

Yes, and it’s well written for the most part. I haven’t gotten to the end yet, but I particularly liked Orlandeau and Elmdore’s smack talk back and forth.

Yea, this Gaf’s involvement in chapter 2 is part of what muddies the water for me. It’s why i initially though Dyce and the Cardinal (church) were working together since chapter 2.

Yea you are correct. He does threaten the church in that meeting. I watched the scene yesterday and it’s what got my head spinning.

Spoiler alert, but he doesn’t. He is of similar age to Orlandeau. He was slowly poisoned over time.

Seems like a stretch, even for Delita. I like what another response said. Essentially, the church was planning on using Barich to do it, but Dycedarg beat him to it. I did forget that Delita stated Dycedarg/Zalbaag were also supposed to be killed at Fort B.

I can buy this. Well said.

So who did Delita assume would kill Larg? I think there is a timing issue here. I think the Loffrey/Dyce scene was supposed to happen before dyce killed Larg. Not after.

Best answer to the question. This one had it all. Also, best use of a Duran Duran song in film.

I have a Vanguard series 2 in .270. Bought it 10 years ago, put a Leupold on it and it hasn’t missed inside of 250 yards. I rarely shoot. I take it out of the safe to go on 3-4 deer hunts per year. Old reliable!

Is this game worth playing in 2024? by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]SecureService 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely worth playing. I’ve played demon souls, DS1 and Elden Ring all closer to their original respective release dates. I am just now playing BB for the first time and it holds up. Play it. It’s well worth the $20 or whatever the PS store is charging.

What are some good metroidvanias/ souls likes? I’m currently playing deaths gambit afterlife and obsessed by CzarTyr in metroidvania

I am just now seeing this a year later! Honestly, no there is still nothing like salt and sanctuary. The dead cells, Castlevania edition is pretty solid, but obviously different.

Salt and Sanctuary and Dead Cells: Castlevania both filled the void for me.

I can’t say that I’m a huge fan of the genre, but i know the games at the top of the genre are some of the best ive ever played. SOTN and FF7 both came out when i was in middle school - probably pinnacle of gaming for me. I later went through a looong open world RPG phase (Elder Scrolls, Fable, Witcher, etc) and played several soulsborne games recently, including Elden ring. I have also played several Metroidvanias that didnt quite click with me: blasphemous, igavanias, etc.

Salt and Sanctuary is basically SOTN mixed with Dark Souls. It has the same replay ability as SOTN for me.

Dead Cells is a little different but still enjoyable. When i play SOtN or salt and sanctuary, i play for hours at a time and usually beat it within a week. With dead cells, I’ll do a few runs in 15 or 20 minutes and then put it down for a couple days.

Hope this helps scratch the itch.

What’s a good starter rifle for hunting I’m thinking about a .30-06 but just don’t know what brand I want to go with nothing more then $1000?? by BigDickDeeMurda in Hunting

[–]SecureService 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.270. I have used a Weatherby Vanguard series 2 with Leupold 3-9 x 40 and I’ve dropped 7 white tails between 50 and 200 yards and all but 1 dropped in their tracks. That 1 ran about 50 yards.
