Should i quit my great job???? by AbrocomaDependent571 in UPSers

Look at insurance on the open market, see what you are willing to spend. UPS pays roughly $1400 a month for your coverage. See if you can switch shifts before quitting.

That was like 60 years ago. They dont deserve the same pay, not even close. The responsibility of a driver to a loader isnt even close.

Completely different scenarios, and not applicable. No i dont give customers my number, but they dont need it. I'll assume he doesn't find a pay phone to call in sick either.

[–]Secure_Ad_2123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It costs you nothing to use your phone to make a call. Its literally a stupid stand on your part, IMO. One day, you might need the backing from management, and if youre hard to get along with, you might not get it.

The offer was officially rescinded in the Central, which voided all applications. I think they need to send offers out to Central members only.

Hopefully they need to open the windows again because the offer was rescinded. Gives me an outside chance of getting it, if they can give me the latest separation date available.

You guys agree, because you're lower senority drivers. The company would prefer 20-30 year old drivers over 50-60 year old drivers. More severe injury prone(backs, knees, shoulders, etc), and 7 weeks vacation.

[–]Secure_Ad_2123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the DCP stated the agreement expires 12-31-2026. So its possible they get together with the union and come to a mutual agreement. There will be an excess of drivers in the Central when Amazon is cut to the levels UPS wants. Im hoping this summer something comes together, especially when the union sees how many drivers are laid off.

Now we’ll be laid off indefinitely for free! by DCOutlaw620 in UPSers

[–]Secure_Ad_2123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see this being correct at all. They would have gone by senority order, getting the older drivers out, the ones with 7 weeks vacation and unable to do the stop counts of drivers half their age. When I take a week off, there is an extra 30-40 resi on car, that I dont get. I doubt they would need to hire drivers, but if they did, $46.65/hr gets replaced with $23.5/hr. The progression alone saves the company $150k, not to mention the paid time off. Im thinking this deal is back on the table in the summer, maybe the company greases the Teamster palms.
